Simon Cowell predicts that One Direction will break up in a recent statement.  He is known for putting together Harry, Nail, Liam, Louis and Zayne when they first appeared on the X Factor.

00:00Simon Cowell predicts One Direction will break up — and it's sooner than you think.

00:06This isn't the first breakup chatter to swirl around the group.

00:09We first heard rumors that Liam Payne was leaving the band after their second album

00:12to spend more time with his girlfriend, but Liam tweeted that he wasn't really going

00:16anywhere.

00:17Then the breakup rumors reignited when it was reported that Harry was starting his own

00:21publishing company.

00:22But their spokesperson put that to rest when he said each band member would be doing the

00:26same, so not to worry.

00:27But now it's the man behind the band, Simon Cowell, fueling the split rumors.

00:33Simon famously put Harry, Niall, Liam, Louis and Zayn together when they first appeared

00:37on X Factor four years ago.

00:39And he recently delivered some harsh truth about their future, telling the UK's Daily

00:43Star,

00:44And what about those rumors that Harry would be pulling at Justin Timberlake sometime

00:55this year?

00:56Simon says,

00:57No, I don't think that it's going to happen for a while.

01:00But he adds,

01:01Eventually, I am sure they all will.

01:04Just more disappointing news for 1D fans who were already bummed to find out that their

01:08guys were snubbed at this year's BMAs.

01:10But good news — their opening act at 5 Seconds of Summer are set to hit the stage for a performance

01:15and possibly take home a moon man.
