Transcript
00:00Larry David wants Bernie Sanders to drop out of the presidential race,
00:08but not for a reason you might think. Earlier this week, the comedian stopped
00:12by The Late Show and joked to host Stephen Colbert that the Democratic
00:15presidential candidate would be great for the country but terrible for him
00:19should he win the election.
00:21If he wins, do you know what that's going to do with my life? Do you have any idea?
00:26David joked that he hoped Sanders would lose the presidential race to spare him
00:29from continuously having to fly back and forth to New York to play the presidential
00:33hopeful on Saturday Night Live.
00:35I thought when he had the heart attack that was going to be it, I wouldn't have to fly in from
00:38Los Angeles. But you know, he's indestructible, nothing stops this man.
00:43Of course, Colbert shared Larry's thoughts with Sanders himself, who was a guest on The Late Show
00:48the very next night. Sanders, who took the joke in stride, had some tough love for the comedian,
00:52saying, it's going to be a tough four years but you're going to have to be flying back.
00:56David started portraying the Vermont Senators since back before the 2016 presidential election,
01:01and Sanders' decision to run again resulted in the comedian's renewed SNL impressions.
