00:15We're breaking down all our favorite moments at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards.
00:19This year's Emmy's host, Kenan Thompson, kicked things off for television's biggest night,
00:23putting a very musical spin on the traditional opening monologue
00:27by performing a remix of some of TV's best and most classic opening theme songs.
00:38The night was off to a hot start with none other than Oprah Winfrey gracing the stage
00:42with an empowering speech before presenting the first award of the night
00:45to Michael Keaton for lead actor in a limited or anthology series or movie for Dope Sick.
00:51I've had some doubters. You know what? We're cool.
00:58Among the early big wins of the night were Murray Bartlett, who won for supporting actor in a
01:02limited or anthology series or movie for White Lotus, Matthew McFadyen, who nabbed the award for
01:07supporting actor in a drama series for Succession, and Julia Garner, who took home the award for
01:12supporting actress in a drama series for Ozark. Over on the comedy side, Brett Goldstein took home
01:17the award for supporting actor in a comedy series for Ted Lasso, and Cheryl Lee Ralph gave a moving
01:23speech and powerful performance of Diane Reeves' endangered species, which earned her massive
01:28cheers and a resounding standing ovation from the crowd after taking home the award for supporting
01:33actress in a comedy series for Abbott Elementary.
01:36I am here to tell you that this is what believing looks like.
01:45Among the night's other memorable moments was Kenan Thompson roasting
01:48Leonardo DiCaprio while wishing Zendaya a happy birthday.
01:5126 is a weird age in Hollywood. I mean, you're young enough to play a high school student,
01:56but you're too old to date Leonardo DiCaprio.
01:59Bowen Yang attempting to steal hosting duties from Thompson.
02:02Is that a threat? Because if it is, it's a hate crime.
02:06Not if I do it, because then it's representation.
02:08Kumail Nanjiani working the bar with a memorable Kenan and Kel reunion,
02:13and a fabulous appearance and emotional win for Lizzo.
02:17Someone fat like me, black like me, beautiful like me. If I could go back and tell little Lizzo
02:25something, I'd be like, you're gonna see that person, but it's gonna have to be you.
02:29This year's Emmys also featured a moving in memoriam with a performance by John Legend.
02:34Wasn't it cute? Told me the queen was a teacher.
02:37And everything you ever loved could leave you, leave you alone.

02:43major wins were handed out to Jason Sudeikis and Jean Smart for the comedy lead actor and actress
02:49categories. Squid Game had a historic night with wins by Hwang Dong Hyuk for outstanding directing
