00:12A correspondent Bruno Falsi brings us more details from Beijing.
00:16Hello from everyone from Telesur and the audience following us in this transmission.
00:22I am in the Chinese capital to report the controversy sparked by the recent statements from the Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takahashi
00:33during a parliamentary session on November 7.
00:37Takahashi stated that the China use of force in Taiwan could constitute a survival threat situation for Japan
00:46and hinted at the possibility of military intervention in the Taiwan Strait.
00:53These remarks were described by international experts and authorities as a serious challenge to the One China Principles,
01:03which recognize the People's Republic of China, the country's sole legitimate government,
01:09and affirms that Taiwan is part of it.
01:12Most countries, including Japans, since 972, repeated these principles and resolutions approved in the United Nations.
01:24In the same year, members of the Vietnam-China Friendship Association warned that statement like this
01:33contradicts Japanese history and international commitment and represents a resurgence of militarism and historical revisionism.
01:44International academics spread that Takahashi has politicized and diplomatic issues,
01:52increasing the risk of escalation and tension in the region.
01:56The economic impact is already being felt, and Kazuyuki Hamada, a Japanese specialist in politics and economics,
02:06warned that these tensions are affecting tourism and key sectors of Japanese economy,
02:13with lows that could exceed 14 billion dollars, and the situation continues escalating.
02:22With these news, we return in the studios in La Havana, Cuba.
