00:00It's On Cinema, at the Cinema, at the Manor.
00:16Hi everybody, welcome to an episode of On Cinema, at the Cinema, at the Manor.
00:23I'm Neu Heidecker and we're here at the Manor.
00:26A little bit of a difficult episode for us today, because yesterday afternoon we lost, my
00:38father, Giamato, passed away suddenly, and we're here today amongst some of his closest
00:47friends and neighbors. And we're in shock and we're obviously very upset, devastated, and
00:59decided to carry on today. And I don't even know if that's the right move. We're in uncharted
01:08territory here. I have a commitment to my audience and I have a commitment to this facility here
01:16to provide this experience for everybody. But this is not necessarily out of the blue at
01:30a facility like this. This is fairly, I hate to say routine, but there is a lot of loss
01:38at these facilities. And I knew that, but now I'm feeling it firsthand and it is raw. That's
01:48what today is, is raw. I was up all night dealing with the hospital and the morgue and trying to
01:57get in touch with his family and trying to figure it out. Because I do have a power of attorney here
02:05with him and the responsibilities that that brings to the table is overwhelming. And I want to, you know,
02:17we have that empty chair there, which is where G would like to sit during our shows and here for
02:24music night and everything. And G is watching us. I think he is. I think he is here with us in the room.
02:32I know it. And he would want us to provide this show for you. And so we're going to try to move
02:40on from that. My guest is Greg Turkington. Hey guys. Who knew G very well. He loved movies. He always
02:50wanted to talk about, uh, some of the old movies that he'd grown up watching. And, uh, I don't want
02:56to get into the details of this too much, but he, um, was not happy with the food here. I think we all
03:07were familiar with that. And, um, we don't know all the details. What we do know is at some point
03:13yesterday morning, he, uh, opened and ate the contents of, uh, uh, an old can of, uh, soup. Um, it was, uh,
03:26soup from the box of props that, uh, you returned to him. That soup? The, the Mon Pa kettle? The cream of
03:34shrimp soup from the Mon Pa kettle movie. He opened that can? The, the Mon Pa kettle can? That's what we
03:41believe. We don't know what happened, but we, we believe that, uh, that he was exposed to the old
03:48cream and shrimp and everything that was in that can, which had been in there for, I don't know how
03:53long, but. Well, the movie came out in 1951. You know, I wish I would have been there to say,
04:02don't. I would have said that. There weren't any nurses that would say this isn't, don't open the movie
04:08props. He's got his own place and he's got the independence that you guys appreciate here.
04:12And, uh, you know, they shouldn't let outside food in the room. Well, it was a movie prop and he had
04:18other movie props too that you ordered me to return to him. So there was soup in the can. Okay. And he,
04:25I don't know if you know, if you'd want to call it soup, uh, from what I saw and what I smelled,
04:30but it was not something he should have eaten. And he was taken to the emergency room
04:35and then went very quickly after that. So, um, but nobody noticed that he was opening that
04:45you didn't notice is a, there's nobody to notice. There was nobody in his room. So I'm not going to
04:52debate this and I'm not going to, we're not going to get into details of this because it's so raw
04:57and fresh. And if you keep prodding on this, then you'll be creating more trouble than you'll ever
05:06know what to deal with. All right. We've got other stuff to get to. Let's just say we love you,
05:17uh, dad. And G Yamato is here with us right now, watching us. And we're going to be remembering him,
05:22uh, uh, uh, throughout the show and there'll be more information on his, um, on how we're going to,
05:30we're going to, we have a, we'll have a bigger, uh, memorial plan. So let's, uh, as he would want,
05:36let's talk about, uh, movies. And I don't know what's going on with me. If I had, uh, this distress
05:42from this and I've been up all night, but I can't, uh, so I've got a bug in me or something, but,
05:48and it's so annoying, uh, and frustrating for me because I was really turned a corner last week
05:55with the health stuff and the, uh, I was feeling really good and I'm, I don't know, I got a feverish
06:02again and losing my, my voice here. Let's quickly do the, the wicked review. Um, wicked for good,
06:10directed, directed by John M. Chu, starring Jonathan Bailey, Pierre Dinklage,
06:18Symphony Offer, and Ariane Grand, Ariane Grand, Ariane Grand, Ariane Grand, follows El Faba,
06:27the future wicked witch of the West and her relationship with Gilda, Glinda, the good witch
06:32of the North. This is the Wizard of Oz sequel. Your thoughts on wicked? It's more reboot than a sequel
06:40because they, it's different, um, different focus. They, so they took the,
06:48the Wizard of Oz, basically they turned into some sort of musical production, but new songs,
06:53but then they made a movie which didn't have Dorothy, didn't have Toto, and I assumed that in the sequel
06:59we would get Dorothy and Toto, which are the main characters from the Wizard of Oz. You've all seen
07:04the Wizard of Oz. Yeah. So who are the main characters? It's not Glinda, it's Dorothy.
07:10Tin Man. Tin Man. And in the Wicked, the first movie, they didn't, they didn't, there's no Toto even.
07:17Um, obviously you would recast because the dog from 1939 died years ago, but this movie,
07:24I went into it expecting, okay, now we're gonna see Dorothy, now we're gonna, and still no Dorothy.
07:30All right. So disappointing, disappointing. Your rating? I would, for neglecting to include Dorothy or Toto
07:42in a Wizard of Oz movie, I would have to give it zero bags of popcorn. But it's an enjoyable movie,
07:50and it is kind of neat to see the witches and, um, some of the other characters. So I'm gonna give it
07:57five bags of popcorn.
07:59Okay.
08:06What did you think?
08:07Yeah, uh, didn't get to this one.
08:12Um, so...
08:12But you had all week before Mr. Amato passed, you could have watched it then. I understand why you
08:16wouldn't watch it today, but this is why I always say to watch these things early and don't wait until
08:21the last minute.
08:22Yeah. No, I know. You're, well, I did, I did see the, I did see enough of this to know that you're,
08:29I'm gonna double up on your rating.
08:33Um, all right. So I, this is, uh, something we organized last week and, uh, I didn't want to,
08:40um, just, I didn't want to reschedule this. It's too complicated to reschedule it. And,
08:47uh, and maybe we, this is what we need is a little laughter and mirth, but, uh,
08:51it's also, um, it helps him out because it satisfies some of his community service
08:57that he's required to do. Uh, we have with us a real great entertainer. Um,
09:02and, uh, if he's ready, we can go to that now is Mark Prost is here. Magic Mark Prost with his new
09:10puppet show that he's worked out. Mark's Pro-pets. Puppet, Mark, Mark's Pritchets.
09:15What? Come on. Yes, close the door like we talked about.
09:21Always wants it closed.
09:22It's like you got here this morning. Always wants it closed.
09:25Hi, everybody.
09:42Give him a sec.
09:43I'm going to. You need this or what?
09:50No. I'm going to do, uh, uh, WC Fields. You're in my shot.
09:58WC Fields and the Three Stooges, or I like to call them the Three Wise Guys. Um.
10:05What is this? You, the, uh. The Stooges and the. WC Fields with the Three Stooges.
10:20Hey, WC Fields. Why don't, how are you? Oh, it's the Three Noodleheads.
10:27What are you guys up to today? Well, we thought it would be a great idea to come see you and maybe
10:36be in a movie together. We were never in a movie together, even though we were, we did, we've been
10:41doing our comedy from 1922 to 1970. Oh, that's interesting, boys. Let's do it. But we have to,
10:50we have to include, excuse me, include my good friend Mae West. Hi, boys. Why don't you come up and see me?
11:04Some time. Uh, what should the movie be about? Well, I recommend that it's about, uh, a hundred minutes.
11:16No, we mean, what should it be? Well, it should, I have two Larrys.
11:26Excuse me. I brought, I brought two Larrys. Yeah, we saw that right away. All right, anything else?
11:34What about the movie they're gonna make? I just started. Who's this? It's Mae West. Why don't we
11:40go up and talk to Mae West and maybe she has some ideas? All right. What do you think, Mae? I think you
11:55all should come up and see me sometime. All right. Thanks, everybody. Thank you, uh, Magic Mark. Let's
12:01hear it for Magic Mark. All right, I think that's me. We just, but I want to see what the movie is
12:08that they're gonna make together. Go out, if you want to find out, go out in the back and talk about,
12:11work it out, because you're just making this shit up in front of people here, okay? No, I'm not.
12:15All right, folks, we, I know, do you want to show your movie now? Thank you, Mark.
12:23Yeah, we're gonna watch first time the movie, which is, and this is, by the way, our last movie night,
12:27because they're redoing, redoing this. Well, no, it's not our last movie night. It is. They're redoing
12:30the schedule. Why are you raining on everybody's parade? I'm, I'm not the one making the decisions
12:35here. Barbara called me and said that they can't, we can't have this room for four hours, and I need
12:41an hour to set up. Anyways, thank you guys so much.
12:57We'll see you next time.
