00:00Closing today with Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's $50 million defamation lawsuit.
00:05The trial has been going on for almost two months now,
00:08and some new startling information regarding Amber's role in the sequel of Aquaman was released yesterday.
00:14President of DC Films for Warner Bros. Pictures, Walter Hamada, testified as Depp's first rebuttal witness.
00:20During his testimony, which was filmed in March, Hamada said Heard's contract was not renegotiated
00:26because of statements from Depp or his former attorney,
00:29which Heard's attorney argued was part of the defamation damages in her countersuit.
00:34Walter said during testimony that the studio considered recasting Amber's role partially
00:38because the actress lacked chemistry with the star of Aquaman, Jason Momoa.
00:43He told the court editorially they were able to make that relationship work in the first movie,
00:48but there was a concern that it took a lot of effort to get there.
00:51You know when you see it and the chemistry wasn't there.
00:54Although Amber will be in the upcoming sequel,
00:57she claims that she nearly lost the job and could not renegotiate for more money
01:01allegedly due to the backlash over her domestic abuse allegations against Johnny Depp.
01:06Heard is seeking $100 million in a defamation counterclaim against Johnny.
