00:00Closing today with Amber Heard because yesterday she officially appealed the $10 million judgment
00:04in her defamation case with ex Johnny Depp.
00:07Recall that Johnny was awarded $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages
00:13after he said Amber damaged his career when she wrote an article for the Washington Post
00:17claiming that she was the victim of domestic abuse.
00:20Although she was found liable, Amber was also awarded $2 million for her own counterclaim,
00:25which held Johnny's lawyer responsible for defaming Amber and calling her a liar.
00:30Now, a statement given to Hollywood Life from Amber's spokesperson said,
00:33we believe the court made errors that prevented a just and fair verdict consistent with the First Amendment.
00:38We are therefore appealing the verdict.
00:40While we realize today's filing will ignite the Twitter bonfires,
00:43there are steps we need to take to ensure both fairness and justice.
00:47I guess we'll be seeing Johnny and Amber back in court.
