A thirty-six-year-old man has been jailed after admitting robbery, commercial burglary and shoplifting across Bristol, in a four-day run of offences that left shop staff frightened and businesses facing significant losses.

00:00Avon and Somerset Police say a 36-year-old man who repeatedly targeted Bristol shops for tobacco
00:07has now been jailed for a series of thefts that left staffs shaken and businesses out of pocket.
00:14Jamie Doyle of No Fixed Address pleaded guilty to one count of robbery,
00:19four counts of commercial burglary and two counts of shoplifting.
00:24He was sentenced at Bristol Crown Court of three years and nine months in prison.
00:30According to police, the offences took place over four days between the 9th and 13th of October.
00:36The court heard that around 8.10 in the morning on the 9th of October,
00:41Doyle entered the co-op on Two Mile Hill Road, violently pushed a member of staff
00:46and stole thousands of pounds worth of tobacco.
00:50Officers say he then returned to the same co-op several times over the following days.
00:55He also targeted other shops, including a Tesco in Bell Hill Road and another co-op in Church Road.
01:02In one incident at the Church Road store in St George, he stole more than ÂŁ1,300 worth of tobacco.
01:10Police say that in total he took nearly ÂŁ5,000 worth of tobacco,
01:15along with over ÂŁ60 in groceries and a ÂŁ30 bottle of alcohol.
01:20Doyle was arrested on the 13th of October following the theft at Church Road Co-op.
