00:00Gaby, the Vaccine Alliance and UNICEF today announced a new agreement that will make the
00:06malaria vaccines significantly more accessible and affordable, paving the way to protect
00:12more children from one of the world's deadliest diseases.
00:16The agreement backed by Gaby and implemented by UNICEF is expected to generate up to US$90
00:23million in savings for Gaby and countries, equivalent to more than 30 million additional
00:29doses, enabling the full vaccination of nearly 7 million more children against malaria over
00:36the next five years.
00:38The agreement is funded by Gaby through an advance payment enabled by the Innovative International
00:45Finance Facility for Immunization mechanism.
00:49The price reduction is expected to take effect in approximately one year and reflects Gaby and
00:57UNICEF's commitment to fighting this deadly disease, which infected more than 11 million
01:04people worldwide in 2024 alone.
