A predictive / future easter egg reference connecting science fiction series Star Trek to films based to Marvel comic book superheroes may be present in 1995 PC videogame Star Trek The Next Generation: A Final Unity. A shuttlecraft shown in the 2nd away team mission may resemble the helmet of Iron Man.
- As of 2025 a full crossover movie with the X-Men, Spider-Man & Avengers characters has yet to happen but it may occur with Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027.
- Enterprise Captain Jean-Luc Picard played X-Men mutant mentor Charles Xavier (Professor X) in several movies for 20th Century Fox starting 5 years after this in 2000.
- TNG "The Perfect Mate" episode actress Famke Janssen played Phoenix / Jean Grey, a mutant with powerful psychic abilities in the early X-Men films.
- Marvel published a Star Trek / X-Men crossover comic in 1996.
- Iron Man / Tony Stark actor Robert Downey Jr. & Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange) both starred in separate modern adaptations of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's detectives stories on Sherlock Holmes. BBC TV drama Sherlock (2010) involved Doctor Who collaborators Stephen Moffat & Mark Gatiss.
- Android Data played Holmes in holodeck fantasies in Star Trek TNG.
- Chris Hemsworth played Thor in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) films from 2011. He played captain Kirk's father in the 2009 J.J. Abrams reboot film.
- Kelsey Grammer played X-Men's Beast in X-Men: The Last Stand (2006). He was also a starship captain in 1992 Star Trek TNG episode Cause And Effect.
- Majel Barrett played many roles in Star Trek over the years, including the 1965 pilot The Cage. She voiced Anna Watson in 17 episodes of Marvel's Spider-Man The Animated series (1994-1998).

00:00We're talking about knowledge of the future in movies, YouTube channel, Easter Egg Psychic.
00:06Alright, it's 1995, and the 20th Century Fox X-Men movies are several years away.
00:13The Marvel Cinematic Universe of comic book-based superhero films are 10 years away.
00:20And I thought I would point out a very interesting, possibly future-leaning, predictive reference
00:28to what appears to be Iron Man.
00:31And you can see this in the 1995 PC computer video game Star Trek The Next Generation A Final Unity.
00:42This was developed by Spectrum Holobyte, an adventure-based game sold on CD-ROM.
00:49The original cast of the Star Trek The Next Generation TV series, which ran between 1987 and 1994,
00:58can be heard in this.
01:00These include Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes, LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Yates McFadden,
01:06Marina Sertes, Brent Spiner.
01:08This is the second major away mission.
01:12It takes place on the planet Moratia, the location of a nature preserve.
01:17The aliens appear to be ape-like.
01:19Alright, so in the course of this story, there's an area called the Shuttle Dock.
01:25And note the design of the shuttle craft itself.
01:29I thought this very similar to the helmet of the Marvel comic book character Iron Man.
01:36And you might see this and think, why does it look like that?
01:40But actually, in the future, there would be many links between Star Trek and Marvel-based
01:47films and TV series.
01:49Now, Iron Man, in 2008, kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe, directed by Jon Favreau and
01:58starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, and Jeff Bridges.
02:03Now, one relevant link, I think, is the fact that both Downey and Doctor Strange actor Benedict
02:11Cumberbatch portrayed Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic literary detective, Sherlock Holmes.
02:20Yeah, if you remember some of the next generation stories, Holmes was played by the android Lieutenant
02:28Commander Data as a holodeck fantasy.
02:31Now, Downey was in Sherlock Holmes in 2009, directed by Guy Ritchie, with a cast that included
02:38Jude Law and Rachel McAdams.
02:41Sherlock was another modern retelling of these stories, co-created by Doctor Who collaborators
02:50Mark Gaddis and Stephen Moffat.
02:51This ran between 2010 and 2017 broadcast on the BBC, starring Cumberbatch.
03:00Martin Freeman played Watson in this.
03:02Star Trek's Patrick Stewart later played the mutant mentor, Professor Charles Xavier, in the
03:11X-Men films from 2000.
03:15Actor Chris Hemsworth was another who was in both Star Trek and a Marvel comic book movie.
03:21He, of course, was Thor from the 2011 debut.
03:26This was directed by Kenneth Branagh, with a story by J. Michael Straczynski, co-starred Natalie
03:32Portman, Tom Hiddleston.
03:35In the 2009 Star Trek reboot film, directed by J.J. Abrams, Hemsworth played George Kirk,
03:44father of James T. Kirk.
03:47And in this cast, you'll find Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Leonard Nimoy, Winona Ryder, Carl Urban,
03:54Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, Eric Bana.
04:00Yeah, there are others.
04:01Kelsey Grammer, I think appropriate to the theme of this game, mission in A Final Unity, played
04:09Beast in the X-Men films.
04:12And also was a starship captain, Morgan Bateson, whose ship and crew traveled close to 100 years
04:20into the future in the Next Generation episode, cause and effect.
04:26I think actress Majel Barrett is worth mentioning as well.
04:31She originally played the second-in-command on the bridge of the Enterprise in the pilot classic
04:39Star Trek TV episode, The Cage, in 1965.
04:43She was, of course, married to Gene Roddenberry, and her voice was famously used for the computer
04:52in future Star Trek series, including The Next Generation.
04:57She also came back, played the character Loxwana Troy, who's the mother of Enterprise-D counselor
05:05Deanna Troy.
05:07Now, Majel Barrett did some work over the years related to Marvel.
05:11She voiced the character Anna Watson in Spider-Man the Animated Series, 17 episodes, which ran
05:19between 1994 and 1998.
05:22My YouTube channel is Easter Egg Psychic.
05:24There I go back and look at movies and television from the past.
05:28I analyze these for possible references to future media.
05:31These may appear in the form of anecdotes, idioms, anagrams.
05:36Hidden in the subtext of the work in question, I also use an unconventional method where I look
05:41at the likenesses of the actors.
05:45And what I found is you can take the likenesses, match these up to some of the anecdotal items,
05:50and show past, present, and future information about actors and other personalities that may
05:57resemble the personalities in the movie or television episode that you're watching.
06:01My email contact is easteregguy, that's G-U-Y, at yahoo.com.
06:10Thanks for watching.
