00:00If you're building a home studio on a $3,000 budget, these are my top recommendations with
00:04the total cost at the end. First, the interface. This is the centerpiece of your studio where
00:09everything connects. My choice is the Apollo Twin 2nd Gen. Next, we need a microphone. One
00:14of my favorites is the Neumann TLM49, which I'm recording my voiceover through right now,
00:19and it sounds amazing. Plus a pop filter to prevent any noise or plosives in my recordings.
00:24Of course, you also need a mic stand, and this one on Amazon by Pio is my go-to for $30.
00:29Can't hear yourself while you're recording without some headphones, and these Audio-Technica
00:32ATH-M50X have been my favorites for over 10 years. You'll also want some speakers when
00:37you're producing, mixing, and mastering, and these Neumann KH80 DSP offer a huge sound in
00:43a small package. Of course, we'll need a MIDI controller, and Rolly Piano M has an awesome
00:47light-up look plus advanced MPE MIDI features. We have an entire studio setup, but nothing is
00:52connected, so we need some cables. My favorite brand is Canary because they let you choose
00:56your favorite length, color, and connector type. For this setup, we need two speaker cables
01:00and a microphone cable. If we buy most of our gear used, our total cost comes just under
01:04our budget at $2,661. And if we buy everything at retail price, our total is nearly twice as
01:10much at $4,618.
