जमीयत उलेमा ए हिंद के प्रमुख मौलाना अरशद मदनी ने कहा, दुनिया ये समझती है कि मुसलमान अपाहिज हो गया है, खत्म हो गया है... आज देखिए अल-फलाह में क्या हो रहा है. वह जेल में है... और कौन जानता है कि उसे और कितने साल जेल में रहना होगा. न्यूयॉर्क का मेयर 'ममदानी' हो सकता है, लंदन का मेयर 'खान' हो सकता है, लेकिन हिंदुस्तान का कोई मुसलमान किसी यूनिवर्सिटी का वीसी नहीं बन सकता.बीजेपी नेता मोहसिन रजा ने मौलाना मदनी के बयान पर तीखा हमला करते हुए कहा कि ये लोग हमेशा दोहरे मापदंड अपनाते हैं. अपनी दुकान दूसरों को दोष देकर चलाते हैं. बीजेपी पर उंगली उठाकर ऐसे बयान देते हैं. ये लोग मुसलमानों के नाम पर राजनीति करते हैं.

They make such statements by pointing fingers at the BJP. These people play politics in the name of Muslims."
