00:00ESPN's renowned insider Shams Charania has brought us major NBA news, reporting that Chris Paul,
00:07the former Suns point guard and an 11-time All-NBA player, will retire. At the conclusion
00:12of the 2025-2026 season, he made this announcement by posting a career tribute video on X, and he
00:20captioned it with a very meaningful message. It said, Back in NC, what a ride. Still so much left.
00:27Grateful for this last one. What this means is that after an incredible 21 seasons in the league,
00:34this 12-time NBA All-Star will officially hang up his jersey and shoes for good.
00:40Now, to give you some background, Paul, who fans often call CP3 or the Point God, is currently 40
00:47years old. Just this past July, he signed with the Los Angeles Clippers. This is actually his second
00:53time playing for the Clippers. His first stint with them was from 2011 to 2017. Throughout his
00:59long career, he has played for a total of seven different NBA teams, which includes his three-season
01:05run with the Phoenix Suns from 2020 to 2023. You might be wondering about his finals record. His
01:12one and only appearance in the NBA Finals happened during his very first season with the Suns. Back in
01:182021, that season, he was outstanding, averaging 16.4 points, 8.9 assists, and he even shot a career
01:27best 93.4% from the free throw line. His legacy is also defined by his leadership in key stats.
01:35He is a five-time NBA leader in assists and a six-time leader in steals. To go all the way back
01:42to the beginning, Chris Paul entered the league when he was drafted fourth overall by the then New
01:47Orleans Hornets in the 2005 NBA draft. As of the date of his retirement announcement,
01:52his career averages stand at 16.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 9.2 assists per game.
01:59What's your favorite Chris Paul memory from his incredible career?
