Charlie Hunnam is set to play serial killer Ed Gein in season three of 'Monster.' Ryan Murphy, the creator of the Netflix anthology series, announced the casting Monday, as well as plans to start production next month. Following the massive success of 2022's 'Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,' the 'Monster' franchise intends to tackle a different true-crime story with each installment.

00:31in the 1990s when it went to trial. The news of Hunnam's casting comes a few months after the
00:36actor booked a starring role on another series, Amazon's Criminal. As for Season 2 of the Monster
00:41franchise, all nine episodes of Monsters, the Lyle and Eric Menendez story, hit Netflix on September 19th.
