00:00Michelle Obama, Anna Navarro, and other political figures are slamming Ann Coulter
00:04for mocking Gus Walls, the 17-year-old son of Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walls.
00:12During night three of the Democratic National Convention, Gus went viral for his emotional
00:17reaction during his father's speech on stage accepting the nomination for vice president.
00:22Hope, Gus, and Gwen, you are my entire world, and I love you.
00:28When the camera cut to them, tears were flooding down the kids' faces.
00:32Gus was so moved, he stood up and shouted repeatedly,
00:35The moment quickly went viral as people began learning for the first time
00:40that the teenager has ADHD, a nonverbal learning disorder, and an anxiety disorder.
00:45However, Ann Coulter took the opportunity to instead mock Gus' emotional reaction
00:50and tweeted in a now-deleted post,
00:52Michelle Obama spoke out about the moment, writing on social media,
00:56that she was touched to see Gus Walls' joy when his dad took the stage last night,
01:01and added,
01:01Let's be a nation that embraces this kind of warmth and vulnerability,
01:05instead of making fun or mocking it.
01:07We could all use some of Gus' example in our own lives.
01:10Democratic National Convention host Anna Navarro shared a screenshot of the post with the caption
01:15She explained that Gus is neurodivergent, pointing out that children who struggle with disorders
01:29may have trouble regulating their emotions in a social setting.
01:32I don't and won't attack Barron Trump.
01:35As far as I'm concerned, he's out of bounds.
01:37They need to leave Gus Walls the f*** alone.
