00:32she delivered the one-word answer every home cook knows all too well.

00:37We always have lots of butter, Consuelos noted,

00:40though Ripa warned him that running out can create real panic,

00:43especially if you aren't friendly with your neighbors.

01:13Instead, the Hope and Faith actress said she'd have to phone one of their kids for help.

01:17Our kids do, Consuelos pointed out of the longtime lover's three children,

01:26Ripa agreed, adding she'd have to call them wherever they are to get butter delivered in a pinch.

01:30Talk about butter prompted Ripa to segue into a spirited defense of the ingredient itself.

01:36In every dish, butter is crucial, she insisted.

01:39Whether it's mashed potatoes, dinner rolls, cookies, cornbread, sweet potatoes, stuffing,

01:45Ripa even admitted she sometimes indulges in a simple pat of butter on its own.

01:49I'm not gonna lie, if it's a nice butter, I just slice off a pat and I just stuff it in my little mouth,

01:55she candidly shared.
