The Dallas Mavericks pulled out a wild 118-115 win over the New Orleans Pelicans — and 18-year-old Cooper Flagg stole the entire show. Flagg dropped a career-high 29 points, scored the final 12 points of the game, and put himself in elite company alongside LeBron James as one of the only teenagers to post multiple 20-5-5 performances.

Dallas hit 16 threes for the second straight game, with Max Christie (23 points) and P.J. Washington Jr. (24 points, 9 rebounds, 3 blocks) both stepping up in a big way. Brandon Williams added 12 assists to keep the offense rolling.

New Orleans made it tough behind Derik Queen’s first career double-double and 15 team steals, but Flagg’s fourth-quarter takeover was the difference.

00:00The first half of this competition swung in the Pelicans' favor as we saw the Mavericks
00:08were trailing behind due to New Orleans' pressure defense and their very large lead of 15 points
00:14during this matchup. In the third quarter, the ball landed on the Mavs' side of the floor as
00:19Cooper Flagg, P.J. Washington, and Brandon Williams collectively brought Dallas back into this game,
00:24taking the lead by two and tying ahead of the fourth. Max Christie and P.J. Washington have
00:29been really big pieces to the puzzle for Dallas when it comes to knocking down shots and getting
00:33defensive stops. Now, Christie has mentioned in the past that he wants to keep shooting to help
00:37the team, and that is exactly what he did in this game. He shot five for nine from the three and had
00:42a 55% shooting percentage. And in terms of P.J. Washington, head coach Jason Kidd had a lot to say
00:48about his performance in the postgame presser, stating he was patient. We asked him to do a lot.
00:54He was guarding everyone, but he hit some big shots and did some big defensive plays.
00:59Cooper Flagg led the Mavericks with his career high of 29 points, 5 assists, and 7 rebounds.
01:05The Mavericks will stay at home for a back-to-back and take on the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday.
