00:00The Dallas Mavericks welcomed the Brooklyn Nets to American Airlines Center on Friday night and
00:08finished on top with a final score of 119 to 111. The Mavericks made their way back to the court
00:13after a long six-day break with their last matchup being against the Houston Rockets on December 6th,
00:18but they looked fresh and ready to go to take on the Nets with six of their players finishing in
00:22double digits and winning two of the four quarters. Brooklyn was playing pressure man defense with
00:27the focus of trapping Cooper Flagg anytime he got the ball to try and limit his performance,
00:31but Dallas utilized their offensive screens to get those open three-pointers in the corner that were
00:36their majority of the game as well as those easy tip-in baskets. This was a quiet scoring night
00:41for point guard Ryan Nimhard, although his poise and his on-court presence definitely dictated the
00:46flow of their offensive rhythm, allowing for a lot of open looks for his teammates. We heard from
00:51head coach Jason Kidd following this matchup and he said that there was a lot of carryover from this
00:56this past week. He said the ball movement was great, especially after a break where you can be
00:59sloppy, but they were not making plays for themselves before their teammates. I thought
01:03the group did a great job of understanding what we were asking them to do in practice and they brought
01:08it in. I thought there was a lot of carryover, just the extra pass. I thought we got a lot of
01:13great looks at threes. Even if we didn't miss, there were great looks and so that was a big carryover
01:18from me this past week. Anthony Davis led the Mavericks with 24 points, 14 rebounds and three assists.
01:25Michael Porter Jr. led the Nets with 34 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. The Mavs will head to Utah
01:31to take on the Jazz on Monday night. For all things Mavs, tune in to Spectrum Cable Channel 15
