00:00I'm watching the body language and their facial expressions.
00:03I mean, literally every muscle on their face, and there's 52 of them,
00:06and I know how to decode every single one.
00:09There wasn't anything there that was alarming.
00:12A furrowed eyebrow, or a tense-lowered eyelid, or maybe even jaw-biting.
00:17Something, right?
00:19But there wasn't any.
00:21Yeah, so my name is Susan Constantine.
00:22I'm the president of the Human Behavior Lab,
00:24and I am a body language expert specializing in substance detection
00:29and threat analysis.
00:31Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised because I thought that they would come out
00:35with all guns slinging, right?
00:36That there would be this tension, animosity building up,
00:40but I didn't see that at all.
00:41It actually surprised me because as a body language expert,
00:44I was looking for any sort of tenseness and some friction between the two of them
00:49or disdain, not any of it at all.
00:51So what really impressed me was the way they felt when they were around each other.
00:57There was a sense of camaraderie.
00:58They were very much at ease with one another.
01:01Their tone, their countenance when they was very respectful of one another.
01:06So I was surprised to see that happen.
01:10But then again, why should we be surprised, right?
01:14Because we have a president that says, all I want is peace.
01:18I want New York City to be a safe place to be.
01:21And they found common ground and respect for one another
01:24because they both wanted the same thing.
01:26So what I was pleasantly surprised about when I was watching the camaraderie between the two of
01:31them, Mondani, he would make eye contact with President Trump.
01:35Oftentimes what we see is they give each other the cold shoulder in other way,
01:41another moments when they've been together, but not today.
01:44So when President Trump would speak, he would look down at him.
01:47He would shake and nod his head in agreement respectfully.
01:51So I was looking for any sort of concealment of emotion where you were showing a false sense of self
01:59and false sense of belief and camaraderie.
02:03But I didn't see it.
02:04There really was a genuine connection between the two of them.
02:10Mondani would look at President Trump.
02:12He would, President Trump would make a comment.
02:15And then you'd see Mondani shake his head in agreement.
02:19And they would then bring his head back to the neutral position.
02:22So what was interesting is that he did that consistently.
02:26So I'm looking at baseline behavior.
02:28Did he do it throughout every single situation, every question that was asked?
02:33And he did.
02:34So it was really quite unique to watch the baseline between the two of them.
02:40And I think that what happened was they were both were pleasantly surprised that they did
02:46have a common ground they could build from.
02:48So that's what we really wanted, right?
02:51Something was unexpected.
02:53We didn't expect this to happen.
02:54But it shows that you can get a Republican and a Democrat together.
02:59And there could be common ground when the two of them decide to listen to each other
03:03and work together for the good of the common people or the people in New York City.
03:09So the other thing is that I noticed was is that there was a sense of just relaxness.
03:14I mean, President Trump did not show any sort of grimacing or raised eyebrows or dismissiveness.
03:21You know, oftentimes he'll do that.
03:23So we have, you know, that part of his personality.
03:25But there seemed to be a genuine friendship that actually built from this meeting.
03:31And also, too, that kind of attaboys and the pats on the back are just friendships.
03:37Those are friendship taps.
03:39So consistently throughout that entire piece that I reviewed, there was nothing that gave
03:45me pause of the two of them not feeling that they have a relationship they can build from
03:52from now and move on and start to get some work done.
03:55So the relaxed position of Mondani, his posture with his hands together and his fingers interlocked
04:04like that, there was some form of tension that was within his hands.
04:09But it wasn't restraint because I would have looked for other cues.
04:13If that were restraint, I would have seen some sort of restraint in his facial muscles.
04:18And that was not present.
04:19So I'm going to excuse that as being you're in a high profile situation.
04:26You're in the Oval Office.
04:27And because of the environment, he was trying very hard to keep that very cordial composure.
04:34And so that was really quite evident throughout the entire meeting that I saw.
04:39So when you see this posture change, where you see one standing, one sitting, when you
04:47are in a conversation, in a friendly conversation, you're seated, right?
04:51Because you want to be at their level.
04:53That's just a common courtesy that we do with other people.
04:57But now you're in the Oval Office.
05:00And President Trump is sitting at the Oval Office desk.
05:03And you're to show respect for the fact that he's at that desk.
05:06It would be really odd for him to be standing.
05:10So the fact that he was there, it's almost like the person on the throne, so to speak,
05:15right?
05:15You respect that person or you respect your elder.
05:18You respect a person who is in a higher position than you are, even though Mandani was standing
05:25taller than President Trump.
05:28That was not unusual to me.
05:30That was what I would have expected.
05:31In fact, when we see him many times when he's speaking in the Oval Office, he's always seated.
05:37A lot of times when the press is there, he is sitting there.
05:40He always has his hands up front, right?
05:42He has the same hand clasp as I've always seen him have.
05:47Nothing was unusual.
05:49So I think it was status quo.
05:51So I just felt like, wow, this is pretty cool.
05:56You know, finally we've got two powers, right, that are on the opposing side finally coming
06:01together and finding common ground.
06:04So I thought it was a beautiful thing.
