00:21the actor told host Josh Horowitz this about playing the character in the franchise.
00:26I think my work is mediocre.
00:27Oldman suggested that he may have portrayed Sirius Black better or differently
00:31if he'd known what was coming next in J.K. Rowling's books,
00:34like his co-star Alan Rickman, who played Professor Snape, did.
00:37Maybe if I had read the books like Alan,
00:40no, if I'd got ahead of the curve,
00:46I would have played, if I'd known what's coming,
00:51I honestly think I would have played it differently.
00:53But his role in the Harry Potter films isn't the only performance Oldman has judged harshly.
00:57The actor admitted that it's difficult for him not to find faults in his own work.
01:01If I sat and watched myself in something and said,
01:05my God, I'm amazing, right, that would be a very sad day.
01:12He continued, because you want to make the next thing better.
