Transcript
00:00Hello friends, this is Henry Rollins, the face you've come to know so well.
00:13Actually watching MTV, you wouldn't know my face because you people never play my goddamn videos.
00:17On a much more wonderful note, I'm backstage in wonderful, cosmopolitan, throbbing Birmingham, England
00:25with the one and only Bill Ward, drummer in Black Sabbath.
00:30Historically, when was the last time this lineup did a complete set?
00:34Oh yeah, okay, me and us were trying to figure that out the other day.
00:38I think it was...
00:38Would it be the Never Say Die tour?
00:39Yeah.
00:40Was that 79 to 80?
00:41Yes, 1979 I believe that was.
00:44Right.
00:44Yeah, could be wrong, probably am, but I think 79's a good guess.
00:48What was it like to revisit this music?
00:51As in, did you have to, was a lot of memorization, or were you able to bring musical experience
00:58you've learned over the years to these older songs?
01:01A little bit of both.
01:02It's incredibly nostalgic.
01:05It's very warm.
01:07I mean, you know, whenever we're playing these things, I get a lot of warm memories.
01:10Follow me now and you will not regret
01:14Leaving the lights you left before you met
01:18You are the first to help, this love is mine
01:23Forever with me, feel the end of life
01:27Your love for me and God
01:32Guide to me, feel the end of life
01:38Before you run away
01:41I'm going to be your
01:45I'm going to be your
01:50I'm going to be your
01:56Hello, I'm Tony, the guitar player
02:05It's out of tune anyway, so
02:11Go on, carry on
02:12Have you been thinking at all today about the idea of doing more gigs?
02:16You know, going out into the continent or stateside or whatever?
02:20I think we'd like to
02:21I think we'd like to go out and do
02:23Well, I think we will
02:24Go out and do more shows
02:26It was better than it ever
02:27It was, I think, before
02:29We got on a lot better
02:31Personalities were a lot easier to deal with
02:34Right
02:35It was really good
02:36We had a good time
02:37Playing in different lineups that I've had
02:39Within Black Sabbath as well
02:42Different members
02:42Good players, great players coming in
02:44Right
02:45But it's never been quite the same as Bill and Guido played
02:49There's that unique thing that when we're all together
02:53It sort of creates that sound
02:55Going home
02:56In the sky
02:58And suddenly I got a fright
03:05Yeah, I looked the wind
03:10But surprised what I saw
03:11Very rude, so then you heard that drop
03:18Tonight was a very special night for me
03:27This is the one that I'm proud of anyway
03:29Tonight I just want to take this gig and just wrap it up in a bundle
03:37Put it in my mind's eye
03:38But when I'm on my deathbed
03:42I'll go, yeah, that was a great feeling
03:44If I had a last thought to have
03:48Before I departed from this earthly domain
03:51That would be the thought that I would love to have that gig
03:53That's how much I feel about that gig
03:55It was just a wonderful feeling
03:57It was a great show
04:00Everyone had a good time
04:01And we got it on tape
04:02So
04:03God bless you
04:04Go to bed a happy man
04:05You did great
04:05Oh, I am a happy man
04:06More than a happy man
04:07Absolutely
04:07God bless you
