07:22The sun has been out in the sun to my heart
07:27You know I've been to have to have been in the dust in their hearts
07:33And I'll be able to turn around in the sun with what to do
07:39And I'll be able to walk through and walk through and walk through and walk through
07:52And that's why one of these people loves them
08:07Hello.
08:09How are you?
08:09I'm Jerônimo from Colombia
08:12I really loved listening to Black Sabbath Guys like performance
08:21me tattooed my fingers, because when I was very little, I saw Ozzy and it made me a lot of
08:32ilusion to look at him or do things like him, so I would love to be part of this last
08:41event
08:42of the Maestro of Maestros and the Dios of Metal. Thank you.
08:57If you had a tattoo you were a certain type of person and it was a statement, you know,
09:02which was I think the same as what Black Sabbath were doing, you know, making a point of not
09:08fitting in and not being normal and not being safe, which is always exciting for me.
09:17Tattooing is so mainstream now that it's kind of hard to see what it was, but for a long time,
09:23if you had a tattoo, you were like, oh, I'm not sure if I should trust this guy. And I
09:28think that was
09:28kind of, not the point, but it was, you know, if I'm going to get a tattoo, it's to be
09:34outside.
09:35And I think with tattooing, you know, maybe not so much these days, but obviously tattoos were supposed
09:41to be something that kind of stood out and were shocking and anti-establishment. So I think the
09:46two just kind of went hand in hand. If you are going to get a tattoo, you get something that's
09:50kind of
09:51spits in the face of the norm. And obviously that was what Black Sabbath were about.
09:59Birmingham's a really working class place and it always will be. People are very real,
10:05people don't take themselves too seriously. And I think sometimes people always trying to chase us,
10:11being like a Leeds or a Manchester or a London, but that's, that's not who we are.
10:20They're a very real band, a very working class band. And even when you see like,
10:24Aussie talking on TV and stuff, he's still very much that, doesn't take himself too seriously,
10:31good sense of humour, like hasn't really changed.
10:35I think Birmingham can get a bad rap. I don't think people have like other cities,
10:41I don't think they see it as the second city. And I think when you're from Birmingham,
10:46like you're proud of things that are from Birmingham. And like, like we gave people metal,
10:52look what we did. It's kind of like, I suppose, like stealing a bit of glory.
11:02Hi, I just want to say congratulations to Black Sabbath as they get back to the beginning
11:09on July 5th. I hope everything is well and God bless you.
11:14This is Daniel. I am from Costa Rica. I just want to say thank you guys for everything. Your music
11:19inspired me to travel from Costa Rica to England some years ago. Also having a meet and greet with
11:26Aussie himself was a life changing experience for me. So thank you so much. We love you.
11:32Thank you for making history in the music. Thank you so much.
11:36Hey, what's up? This is Dave from Tucson, Arizona. I just want to say thank you to Aussie and the
11:41rest of
11:41Black Sabbath. And I also want to thank you to give a big shout out and thanks to my mom
11:44because
11:45she got me into you guys and your music. And I just want to say thank you and have fun.
11:54Thank you, Black Sabbath for bringing me up on rock. Birmingham forever. Legends were born.
12:04This is Dingo, Two Socks, Silk here, McDingo Berry and Black Sabbath. It's absolutely one of his
12:09favorite bands. My name is Glenel. These are my little friends behind me. They're from Canada and
12:15everybody all around the world. Big cheer for Black Sabbath. Oh my God, it's a lifetime of memories.
12:20Damn, we're going to miss you guys. Ivan Mitchell from Monterrey, Mexico. Thank you for giving us a
12:26passion, a reason to live. And don't forget to go fucking crazy.
12:52Thank you for being on the spirit creatures of this ineffable thing called Merle. Thank you for coming to
12:58Colombia in 2015. Thank you for existing on absolutely everything. Yes, you are middlemen.
13:05You've changed the life since you began.
13:12Sabbath have never been in fashion. They've never been out of fashion either.
13:15And so fans are there for life. Once you're a fan, you're always a fan.
13:22Digbeth was really like the Wild West in the early days, like anything could happen.
13:26There were these empty warehouse spaces. And we really leant into this sort of post-industrial
13:31area of Birmingham. Behind doors of these spaces, you'll find artists and musicians.
13:38It's a real nod to sort of the counterculture scene that's happening in Birmingham.
13:43There are young musicians that are plugging in their guitars, turning up the volume
13:48and making heavy metal music. And that comes from Black Sabbath, who, 15 years on, came from Birmingham.
13:56They came from this place. And that is their legacy, that this music is as vibrant as it was when
14:01they
14:01started out over 50 years ago. I think people often assume that Sabbath fans are like men in their 60s.
14:09It's such a diverse fan base. It's a global fan base. I don't think we can stereotype who a Sabbath
14:14fan is.
14:15Their influence on fashion and that aesthetic is about being yourself and doing it on your own terms
14:21and really pushing, pushing against the mainstream.
14:25Black Sabbath leant into that darker side and they were really uncompromising in both their sound and
14:31their look. And that has influenced counterculture, whether that's from grunge to punk to heavy metal.
14:38And I think they've done things in their own way. And I think that it's not so much about the
14:42look as
14:43it's a way of being. But for me, heaviness isn't just about amplification. It can be about lyrics.
14:49It can be about a way of being. It's the world that we're existing in. And I think that continues
14:54to drive
14:57creativity. And Sabbath, we're the first ones to do that.
15:14We're having fun. Give it up for Lamb of God. That was amazing.
15:24Growing up, heavy metal was a safe haven for others like me, just like you. It was a coping mechanism
15:30for the rebels, the renegades, the disfranchised, all of us, the defiant ones.
15:37This music inspired us to challenge the system, to be activists of change, and it connected us and
15:44allowed us to find our own kind of peace in a world of chaos. I look out here today and
15:49I see that this
15:50is still our safe haven and we are still here. The music of Black Sabbath has influenced and inspired
15:59musicians of many different genres who feel the same way. And we are fortunate to have an incredible
16:04cast of insanely talented musicians gathering to pay tribute to Ozzy and Black Sabbath.
16:11Some of them were inspired by the music of Ozzy Osbourne and some of them are here who helped
16:17create the music of Ozzy Osbourne. So please, I want to introduce and welcome Lizzy Hale, Nuno Betancourt
16:25from Xtreme, David Ellison from Megadeth, drummer for Ozzy for 15 years, Mike Borden from
16:34Faith No More and long-time Ozzy keyboardist Adam Wakeman and Mr. Jake E. Lee.
16:56Here we go!
16:58Here we go!
17:06Here we go!
17:10Here we go!
17:11There we go!
17:15Anybody seen Jake E. Lee?
17:16Anybody seen Jake E. Lee?
17:22Jake, Jake, Jake, Jake, Jake, Jake!
17:43Now that's how a fucking rock star rolls in right there.
18:06This is so beautiful.
