Vladimir Putin recently responded to President Donald Trump’s 28-point peace plan, acknowledging that it is a modification of earlier peace discussions between Russia and the U.S. in Alaska, but noting that it has yet to be discussed in detail with Russia. Putin emphasized that a peaceful resolution to the Ukrainian conflict would require comprehensive and substantive negotiations, which, in his view, have not yet taken place. He criticized the U.S. for not engaging Russia directly on the plan, attributing this to opposition from both Kyiv and European nations.
00:00During the talks in Anchorage, we confirmed that despite certain issues and complications on our part,
00:13we agree to those suggestions and we are ready to show the flexibility, we were asked.
00:20But as we see, after our talks in Alaska, there was a certain pause taken by the United States.
00:29We know that this was due to Ukraine's actual refusal from President Trump's peace settlement plan.
00:36We received it through our channels of cooperation and I guess it may serve as foundation for final peace settlement.
00:46It's no secret that President Trump's peace plan to resolve the situation in Ukraine was discussed before our Alaska meeting
00:58and during that prior discussion, the American side asked us to make certain concessions to show us, asked us to show what they called flexibility.
01:09The main goal of our meeting in Alaska was that during the talks in Anchorage we confirmed that despite certain issues and complications on our part, we agree to those suggestions and we are ready to show the flexibility we were asked for.
01:37We informed in detail all our partners and friends in the Global South, including China, India, DPRK, South Africa, Brazil and many other countries and CSTO countries, of course.
01:56All our partners, all our friends and partners, I'd like to emphasize that every one of them, down to one, supported and upheld those agreements.
02:07But as we see after our talks in Alaska, there was a certain pause taken by the United States.
02:16We know that this was due to Ukraine's actual refusal from President Trump's peace settlement plan.
02:24And I believe this was the reason for its new iteration, the 28-point plan.
02:36We have this plan, we received it through our channels of cooperation, and I guess it may serve as foundation for final peace settlement.
02:51Just recently, on the 4th of November, I believe, two weeks ago, basically, Kyiv publicly announced that there are no more than 60 Russian troops in that city.
03:06And within a matter of days, this city, they claimed, would be fully de-blocked by Ukrainian troops.
03:15But let me inform you that even back then, on the 4th of November, the city of Kupiansk had been completely cleaned by the Russian troops.
03:31Our guys were cleaning up blocks and streets.
03:36The fate of the city had been sealed by then.
03:40What does it tell us?
03:44Either the Kyiv leaders have no information on the situation on the battleground, or they have that information, but they can't evaluate it properly.
03:58If Kyiv doesn't want to discuss President Trump's propositions, if they refuse to do that, they and the European warmongers must realize that the events in Kupiansk will repeat, inevitably, in other key sections of the front line.
04:17Maybe not as quick as we would like it, but inevitably, they will repeat, because the goals of the Special Military Operations are being achieved through armed warfare.
04:32But as I said many times before, we are ready for peaceful talks.
04:38We are ready to resolve the issues in a peaceful manner.
04:43This, however, requires detailed discussion of all the details of the plan that is being proposed.
04:52We are ready for that.
