00:00Heartbreakingly. Malaria still kills a child under five years of age every
00:09minute. Just think about that. 4,000 adolescent girls and young women still
00:16contract HIV every week. TB remains the world's single deadliest infectious
00:24disease even though we've had a cure for almost a century. And the rise of
00:32antimicrobial resistance even threatens some of the progress that we thought we
00:37had made. So let me address very directly what many of us are feeling right now.
00:44How do we win this fight when countries like my own are having to make difficult
00:51decisions on our development spending? Well first even when we make these
00:58decisions we can choose to prioritize global health and to prioritize
01:04organizations like the Global Fund.
