00:00On Ukraine, you've just talked to your European allies.
00:03What do they make of the US's proposals?
00:06Will you make sure a surrender is not imposed on Ukraine?
00:09How do you feel when you first read those US proposals?
00:12Well, I've just had a call with President Zelensky,
00:16alongside President Macron and Chancellor Mertz,
00:19and that was an opportunity for us to express again our support for Ukraine
00:24and the principle that's very important,
00:27which is all matters to do with Ukraine must be determined ultimately by Ukraine.
00:33Now, we all want a just and lasting peace.
00:36That's what the President of America wants.
00:38That's what we all want.
00:39And so we need to work from where we are to that end.
00:42But the principle that Ukraine must determine its future under its sovereignty
00:49is a fundamental principle.
00:50And how do you feel when you read the proposals?
00:52What do you feel about it?
00:53Well, it reinforced in me that basic principle
00:56that we have to work from where we are to the just and lasting peace.
01:00I know that's what President Trump wants,
01:03and he's been working to that end.
01:05But we must reiterate the principle
01:08that matters about Ukraine must be determined by Ukraine.
