00:00When it comes to a Taiwan contingency, I believe it's actually good that Japan's prime minister
00:06made somewhat bold statements. This serves as a form of deterrence against Xi Jinping and China.
00:12What would happen to Japan if China expelled all Japanese companies out of China? Japanese
00:17companies would suffer losses, but the Chinese government couldn't possibly do that. Why? Because
00:22those Japanese companies employ a large number of Chinese people. If we don't put a stop to that
00:27kind of remarks here, it will create a precedent in favor of them. No matter how outrageous or
00:32terrible their remarks are, they will think it will be okay in Japan. If that happens, Japan-China
00:37relations will never achieve a stable relationship. Having studied the Chinese Communist Party regime
00:42for many years, I understand their habits well. They always become arrogant and adopt an intimidating
00:48attitude towards those who yield or appear weak. Conversely, they treat strong opponents with
00:53politeness. That's China. Japan is smaller in size than China and militarily. They might be superior.
01:00But Japan has an advantage China lacks. Japan has allies. The Japan-US alliance is for a situation like this.
