00:00Malaysia has sought South Africa's support for its candidacy in several international

00:08On the sidelines of the G20 summit on Friday, Prime Minister Datuk Sri Anwar Ibrahim met
00:13with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa to discuss backing for Malaysia's bids for
00:19seats on the UN Security Council, the International Maritime Organization, the UN Economic and
00:25Social Council, the International Telecommunications Union, and the UN Human Rights Council.
00:31The leaders also reviewed Malaysia-South Africa bilateral relations following Ramaphosa's
00:36visit to Putrajaya in October.
00:39Anwar said Malaysia is ready to finalize and sign key agreements, including Memoranda of
00:45Understanding on Economy and Industry, Halal Cooperation, Agriculture, Green Technology,
00:51Research, Education, and TVET.
00:55He added that Malaysia has also offered African countries opportunities and incentives at the
01:01MY Integrated Circuit Design Park to join its semiconductor value chain.
01:07Anwar also congratulated South Africa on hosting the G20 summit, the first African nation to
01:13do so, and noted the summit's theme of solidarity-equality-sustainability aligns with Malaysia's 2025 ASEAN chairmanship,
01:23which emphasizes resilience and a fair, sustainable energy transition.
