00:30It's Thursday and our couples are packed and ready to start moving on up to the north
00:40because in just two more sleeps, Blackpool's blue skies will greet them
00:44and the Tower Ballroom will become their sage.
00:48But before all that, we've got heaps of Strictly Fun coming your way.
00:53So let's take a look at what we've got coming up for you tonight.
00:56They took us rum back to a place only George knew
01:00and the judges couldn't help being swept up in the emotion.
01:04But with a salsa in sight, would George and Alexis keep their tokens rolling
01:08and play on next week?
01:11Between the fairground rides, the fish and chips and breezy beach walks,
01:15our couples have been training hard.
01:17So stay tuned as we've got exclusive footage of how our last four couples
01:22are shaping up for their biggest performance yet.
01:26And she's got an awful lot of outfits to pack before she heads up to Blackpool.
01:30It's Vicky Gill, everybody!
01:31But first up, spiky, brittle, the kind of things you'd expect to find
01:40at the bottom of the Blackpool Sea.
01:42Unfortunately, that's also how the judges described Karen
01:45and Carlos' American Smooth last weekend.
01:48They're here to chat about their performance
01:50and how they're hoping to glide into a far smoother Paso Doble.
01:54But for now, let's take a look back at the dance.
01:56I won't tell you what to say
02:01You went from open hold to close hold.
02:03There was no bumping.
02:05I saw so many improvements.
02:07I know what you can do well
02:09because you bring it every week and it's always great.
02:12But I want to see lyrical.
02:14I want to see soft.
02:15It was a little brittle, this dance.
02:18Every single dance, I see you.
02:21You made it your own.
02:22And I think that's something absolutely beautiful.
02:26It's Karen and Carlos.
02:32Carlos, I'm actually going to start with you
02:34because you got quite emotional
02:36at the judges' comments on Saturday night.
02:38Tell me more about it. What happened?
02:40I was just like, you know,
02:41like being a partner and being a professional dancer
02:44and seeing your celebrities and practice so hard
02:47every single week.
02:49And it's just inspiring.
02:52But particularly in this week,
02:54and the ballroom, like I said, is not her strength.
02:56And she worked so hard.
02:58And she came into training and she said,
02:59I really want to try to make it myself to improve
03:03and to let the judges see that I'm improved.
03:05Just a little.
03:06That's enough too.
03:07And she did absolutely amazing.
03:09And they saw it.
03:10I don't know, they saw it.
03:12So you teared up.
03:13You got emotional.
03:14I did. I'm so emotional.
03:14I just so...
03:15It's just like all the hard work pays off.
03:17Yeah.
03:18And I just couldn't be more proud
03:19to be there with her
03:20and to witness those magical moments.
03:23Yeah.
03:23And yourself, Kazzy, you also got quite emotional.
03:26What was your take back from the feedback?
03:28Well, I got emotional because Carlos got emotional.
03:31Because, you know, he was right.
03:33We put in loads of work.
03:34And to just try and be in that position
03:36is really, really challenging for me.
03:38Sometimes you couldn't even breathe.
03:39I said, Kaz, remember, you can breathe.
03:41Yeah, he just said that to me a lot.
03:43I'm like...
03:43But, no, and when I seen you like that
03:46then got me because we're a team
03:48and we're a partnership
03:49and we've worked really hard at that
03:50and we're together.
03:51So, you know, if he's happy, I'm happy.
03:53If he's emotional, I'm emotional.
03:55We mirror.
03:55So, but seeing him care about me so much,
03:58which you do, just meant a lot.
04:01And I think everyone else could see that too.
04:02So, thanks.
04:03Oh, it was a lovely moment, actually,
04:05for the two of you.
04:06But as you were worried about the pacing
04:09in the American Smooth
04:10and had to undo some of those
04:12old football habits for the dance.
04:14So, how did you work on that
04:15in the lead-up to Saturday?
04:17Yeah, because everything is...
04:19I think I've said it before,
04:20if I've got to get over there in football,
04:21I get over there quick.
04:22Everything's in my nature.
04:23Even I ran here because it was cold.
04:25So, I was running here.
04:26It is cold, you're right.
04:28There's no slow with me at all.
04:30I even still where I go.
04:31So, to do the dance and to try and be elegant,
04:34I think in my head I am.
04:35And I think I am.
04:36But obviously, there's still more layers to that.
04:38But, you know, that will take time
04:40if we're given the opportunity.
04:41But I tried my hardest.
04:43You did.
04:44I really love the dance.
04:45I love the drama in it as well.
04:47It's gorgeous choreography, Carlos.
04:48But were you happy with the pacing of the dance
04:51compared to what it was on day one of training?
04:53I mean, I'm more than happy.
04:55I mean, we've all seen that performance.
04:56And who thought Karen Carney
04:58would deliver the American Smooth
05:00in the most smoothie way?
05:02Yeah.
05:03Like, the best.
05:04Aw, we love that.
05:05He's proud of you.
05:06He cried and everything.
05:08Well, moving on into Blackpool.
05:11Where you're going to be dancing
05:13a paso doble to this.
05:15Oh, vamos.
05:18Oh, Fortuna by Carmina Burrana.
05:22Yes.
05:22My gosh.
05:24Okay, Kaz, along with Alex Scott in 2019,
05:27you are the only other footballer
05:29to ever have competed in the Tower Ballroom.
05:32So what do you make of that?
05:33That's quite an achievement.
05:34That's pretty cool.
05:35Alex did really well as well.
05:36She did?
05:36I watched her dance the other day.
05:37Also a paso?
05:38Yeah.
05:38Really?
05:39I watched it the other day.
05:39It was really cool.
05:41But yeah, like, I can't believe it.
05:43Just, I'm really excited.
05:44I'm really excited to dance with Carlos there.
05:46And obviously, massive tune.
05:48Yes.
05:49Like...
05:49It could have been...
05:50You can't get it any better.
05:51In terms of paso doble music, that is...
05:54That's what he's been saying all week.
05:55Yes.
05:55So, yeah, it's very dramatic.
05:58So, yeah, it probably suits us.
06:00Well, I feel like this is going to be
06:02a great dance for the two of you.
06:04You've got that kind of drama
06:05and fierceness about you.
06:07And Carlos, I think it's safe to say
06:08that you're also very excited
06:10about a paso in Blackpool.
06:12Shall we remind ourselves
06:13of your reaction on Saturday night?
06:15I can't.
06:16That's why I said it suits us.
06:30It suits us!
06:31I don't think I've ever seen someone
06:33more excited to do a paso doble in Blackpool.
06:35I'm so excited!
06:36I can't tell you how.
06:37Like, every day,
06:38even though when I try to explain to her
06:40the paso doble, to this music,
06:41what's the paso doble about,
06:42I couldn't stop talking.
06:44Yes.
06:44Last time in my life,
06:45I couldn't stop.
06:47I've had an encyclopedia of knowledge
06:49about the paso from Carlos.
06:51Buzzing!
06:53I'm so happy.
06:54It is such a great dance to do
06:55in that tower ballroom.
06:57It's, like, just so big
06:58and eats up the space so well.
07:00You know that, Don.
07:00How excited are you, though,
07:01to unleash that kind of drama
07:03and fierceness that the paso needs?
07:05I've got to match this guy's drama.
07:07You've got to, yeah.
07:08We've seen it there, but...
07:09I think you will.
07:10I've said to Carlos,
07:11try and wind me up a little bit
07:13to get into a little bit of character.
07:14So this is you on Tuesday,
07:15but this is looking good, guys.
07:17Yeah, she's really...
07:19She's, you know, she's, like,
07:21she really had the character of this dance,
07:23which is something you can't teach.
07:25Paso doble is a dance that,
07:26whether you get the style or you don't.
07:28Yeah.
07:29Steps itself is easy to learn,
07:30but it's hard to do.
07:31Hard to perform.
07:32Exactly.
07:33Right.
07:33But if, yeah, I think it's suited her.
07:36So it suits her.
07:37I think I'm really looking forward
07:38to see her to dance this dance.
07:39And, Kaz, you've got six extra dancers
07:41joining you for this as well.
07:43Do you think that it'll feel a bit like
07:45being back on the pitch with your teammates?
07:47Yeah, it did feel really nice, you know,
07:49seeing them the other day,
07:50and I was like, thanks for being in our team.
07:53And Carla said, they're your army, Kaz.
07:55Oh.
07:55So they're your army,
07:56and obviously when we do certain things,
07:57the army comes with me.
07:58You've felt the energy, yeah.
08:00And I was like, oh, this is really cool.
08:01Like, we're just going.
08:03So, yeah, and they're amazing
08:05to be part of the team
08:06and just so lovely,
08:07so it's great to have them.
08:08Yeah, the army of Kaz
08:10coming towards Carlos
08:11in the Blackpool Tower.
08:12I love it, the drama.
08:13Can you believe it?
08:14I know, it's so good.
08:15I really believe it.
08:15And how has the dynamic
08:17of the extra dancers, though,
08:18influenced the whole performance?
08:20They're incredible.
08:21Yeah.
08:22And they also,
08:23because it's Blackpool,
08:24and having those extra dancers,
08:26and the amazing extra dancers
08:28actually dancing next to her,
08:29actually adds more flavor
08:32and style,
08:32the energy,
08:33to help her to perform even better.
08:35Yes.
08:35I felt it when she danced
08:37the scurbish with that.
08:38I was literally amazed
08:40by the energy they gave to me
08:43because I was opposite.
08:44See, you were being inspired by it.
08:46I am.
08:46No, I am.
08:47I genuinely am.
08:47It's a team effort.
08:48Well, listen,
08:48we can't wait to see this fierce,
08:51dramatic Paso Doble
08:52in the Blackpool Tower.
08:53Good luck to the two of you
08:54at the week,
08:55and let's hear it
08:55for Karen and Carlos.
08:56Thank you.
08:57Thank you.
08:57Now, with extra dancers,
09:01extra choreographers,
09:02bigger lights,
09:03and an even bigger ballroom,
09:05it's no wonder our couples
09:06have been working overtime
09:07to perfect their Saturday night dances.
09:09Let's take a look
09:10at how Alex, Louis, Amber,
09:12and Belvinda are getting on.
09:16We are dancing the quick step.
09:18The stamina aspect is concerning,
09:21but we'll train hard.
09:24We remember from the judges' criticism
09:26from the last ballroom
09:27we've done
09:28with her left shoulder
09:29slightly bit up.
09:31We're keeping her down this week.
09:33One, two, three, four.
09:36My mission this week
09:37is for Amber to smile
09:39the whole way through
09:40in Blackpool.
09:41I just want to have fun,
09:43so I want to bring the party
09:45to Blackpool.
09:46I do know it!
09:50The routine for the Charleston
09:52is actually going quite well.
09:54It's really fun.
09:55It's upbeat.
09:55Three, three, four, five.
09:56If you don't have the stamina,
09:57you aren't able to execute
09:59the quality.
10:01From the first note of the song
10:03until the last beat of the song.
10:06The shapes, the movement,
10:07the speed is very different.
10:09There's a lot going on.
10:11Did we get that?
10:12I didn't get the length.
10:12It's one of those.
10:16I'm hoping we can pull it off.
10:17Just say yes, please.
10:19Yeah.
10:21I saw that.
10:24We have the Argentine tango,
10:26which is all about precision
10:27and commitment
10:28and staccato movement.
10:30Me, you, look.
10:32I gotcha.
10:33We have to be quite clear
10:34on where we step
10:35and where we look.
10:37Hold.
10:37So what's been going really well
10:39is that I can actually walk
10:41and dance in heels
10:42and it feels brilliant.
10:44I can't believe what I've seen.
10:45I've got a lot of confidence.
10:47Well, more than I had before.
10:49Hollywood, step back.
10:50You know what?
10:51There's just something else
10:53about the Argentine tango
10:54that's making me go,
10:55yes, yes, yes.
10:56Junka.
10:59This week,
11:00we are doing our couple's choice.
11:03The dance is fast
11:05and as much as I love it,
11:06the dance moves
11:07have to be super precise too.
11:09Observing Alex
11:10go through this choreography
11:12makes me so darn proud.
11:15What we need to absolutely name
11:17is the synchronization
11:18between the two of us.
11:20It's so exciting
11:22but it is its own challenge.
11:25Never in my lifetime
11:28have I ever done
11:29anything like this.
11:30I look like a black chicken.
11:36Next up,
11:38as the tide rolls in,
11:39so does someone
11:40with enough sequins
11:41to light up the prom.
11:43Our costume queen is back
11:44ready to hem in
11:45the chaos of Blackpool week.
11:47It's, of course,
11:48Vicky Gill
11:48in Putting on the Glitz.
11:50It's Vicky Gill
12:03loving the outfit, Vicky.
12:05I'm loving the vibe.
12:07Now, Vicky,
12:07you showed us
12:08Nikita's outfit
12:09on the show last Thursday.
12:11Yeah.
12:11But what he wore
12:12on Saturday
12:13was slightly different.
12:15Can you talk me
12:16through what happened?
12:16I mean,
12:17he mentioned also
12:17the trousers.
12:18So when did the change happen?
12:19Well, we don't often
12:20show a lot of menswear
12:21on a Thursday.
12:23Purely for this reason
12:24because it's more about
12:25chatting to the guys,
12:26finding out what they,
12:27you know,
12:27what they want to do.
12:28And as you can see,
12:29Nikita wanted to
12:30show more flesh.
12:31A lot less.
12:32Yeah.
12:32So, therefore,
12:34we couldn't have
12:35the leather on the upper
12:36and the lower
12:37so he went for the lower.
12:38You went for the lower.
12:39Yeah.
12:39Just one option.
12:41Yeah.
12:41Okay.
12:41And that's why
12:42we will not see
12:43any more men's outfits
12:44on It Takes Two.
12:44Okay,
12:45shall we get into
12:45sketch number one then?
12:47For sketch number one,
12:48what have we got tonight?
12:49Oh,
12:50Lewis Cook's Charleston.
12:51Yes.
12:51So, how are you going
12:53to design this
12:53to give them that
12:54freeness that you need
12:55in the Charleston?
12:56Well, we've worked
12:56on a zoot suit silhouette,
12:58so a much longer jacket,
13:00high trouser line,
13:02fuller leg.
13:03It won't be so exaggerated
13:04because we don't want
13:05the jackets to fly too much
13:07with the Charleston,
13:08but both Katya and Lewis
13:10will be in very,
13:11very similar cuts.
13:13We may alter it a little bit
13:14for Katya to give her
13:15a bit more of a cinch,
13:16but we will see both of them.
13:17So, we've got a pale pink
13:18woven fabric
13:20with quite clean
13:22black shirt and tie detail.
13:24We'll probably introduce
13:25a little bit of white
13:26through the styling
13:27because we'll have
13:27a black and white shoe
13:28with them.
13:29So, very clean extras
13:31because you've got
13:31lots of extras.
13:32And you've got some fabrics
13:32to show us as well.
13:33Yeah, so you can see the tone
13:34and then our extra performers,
13:38professional dancers,
13:40will be in a purple,
13:42a burgundy and a red.
13:43Right.
13:43And so, that'll be
13:44a good backdrop and a frame
13:45to show off Katya and Lewis.
13:47I like it.
13:48Okay.
13:48Let's go to sketch number two.
13:49Now, we've got Amber's
13:51quick step dress.
13:52Again, can you talk me
13:53through this one top to bottom?
13:54What is this at the top?
13:56What is happening there?
13:57Well, all of it.
13:57Love.
13:58I know.
13:58All of the embellishment
14:00is on the upper part
14:01just so that we don't put
14:02too much weight on the bottom
14:04because of the quick step.
14:05Right, because she's got to have
14:05that freeness in the legs.
14:06Yeah, and the whole dress
14:07is going to be in gold sequin.
14:08So, from the hem,
14:09we've got gold binding,
14:11pale to a turquoise
14:12and cream georgette,
14:13so it's nice and light.
14:14But up through the bodice,
14:15this is all gold sequin.
14:17And then,
14:17when we get to the neckline,
14:18we'll have a softer line,
14:21but all of this detail
14:22around the top
14:22will be crystals
14:23and jewel stones.
14:24So, we'll stitch that through
14:25so the weight
14:25is not at the bottom.
14:26And you're holding
14:26some fabric there.
14:27Is this what it's going
14:27to all feel like?
14:28Well, again,
14:29our backdrop are professionals
14:32who are supporting them
14:33in their production.
14:34We're going to be
14:35in a teal tongue
14:37to sit across
14:38the pale turquoise
14:39and the gold.
14:39She's going to look stunning.
14:41I know she is.
14:41Let's go to mannequin
14:42number one, shall we?
14:43Are we ready?
14:44Ooh!
14:47Ooh, now this is a fun one
14:48because this is
14:49Ashley Roberts' outfit.
14:51Now, this is for the celebs
14:52that are coming back
14:53to big pro dance
14:54that they're all doing.
14:55Can you talk me through it?
14:56Black, sequins, sparkly.
14:58I'm loving it.
14:59Well, we're so excited
15:00for the guys
15:01to come back and see us.
15:02It's always really, really nice
15:03when old friends come back.
15:06Ashley has not changed one bit.
15:07Watched the director's tape
15:08on Sunday.
15:09She's absolutely fabulous.
15:11And the music,
15:13Shake the Tail Feather,
15:14we want lots of movement.
15:15But we want all of our
15:16returning performers
15:18to just be really classic.
15:20Yeah.
15:21Black, shiny,
15:22really take on
15:24kind of what we think
15:25about as strictly
15:26but not have
15:26all of the different looks
15:28that they had before.
15:29Yes.
15:30Because it would be
15:30too multicolored
15:31and too distracting.
15:32You've got a point of difference
15:33from what she wore
15:34the last time
15:35that she did Shake Your Tail Feather.
15:37Shall we head over
15:38to mannequin number two?
15:40We will.
15:40Let's go to mannequin number two.
15:41Ready?
15:42Are we ready?
15:43Oh!
15:43Oh, this is another great...
15:47So, this is Belvinda's
15:49Argentine Tango dress.
15:51Now, in our fashion panel,
15:52they picked her Paso Doble
15:54as one of their favourites.
15:55Yeah.
15:55So, talk me through this one.
15:56Another dramatic piece.
15:57Another dramatic dress.
15:58It's going to...
15:59The set will be quite dark
16:00even though we're in the tower.
16:02And we use a lot of black
16:03when we work with
16:04Argentine Tango pieces.
16:06But, as you can see,
16:07we've got an introduction
16:08of blue that's running
16:09through the whole dress.
16:10This will continue, hopefully,
16:11up onto the neckline
16:12and into the sleeve.
16:14We just haven't progressed
16:15to this because we need
16:15to fit it first.
16:17Yes.
16:17There's lots of splits
16:18so that the legs
16:19can become free.
16:20Yeah.
16:22Watching the choreography,
16:23I think we should be okay,
16:24but what you might find
16:25by the time we get to live
16:26on Saturday,
16:27we may have taken away
16:29the mesh.
16:29Taken it even more.
16:30Yeah, I mean, they have...
16:31So, did you add this on?
16:32Yes.
16:32Nice, for a bit of length
16:33and drama.
16:34Yeah, so it's not too heavy
16:35again on the hem,
16:36but we'll see.
16:37I like the blue
16:38and the black combo.
16:39I do, because I think
16:40it'll give us lots of
16:40light and shade on set.
16:42So, we've got sapphire.
16:43I think up to now,
16:44as you can see,
16:44kind of over the hip,
16:45we've introduced some pearls.
16:47Again, we'll probably be
16:48at about at least
16:4910 to 15 packets of crystals
16:51by the time we get to Saturday.
16:52Just your usual Saturday night
16:53we're making you on the team
16:5410 packs of crystals.
16:55We can't wait to see
16:56all of the amazing looks
16:57at Blackpool.
16:57We're all super excited.
16:59Amazing.
16:59I can't wait.
17:00Let's hear it for Vicky Gill.
17:03Well, just like Vicky's
17:05dazzling costumes,
17:06everything begins
17:07with an idea and a dream.
17:08For our pros,
17:09their journey into
17:10the world of dance
17:10started the very same way,
17:12with a spark of magic,
17:13a burst of passion,
17:14and a whole lot
17:15of determination.
17:17We sat down
17:17with Lauren and Luba
17:18to chat about
17:19how they first stepped
17:20into the beautiful world
17:21of ballroom.
17:22Even though we're
17:25the greatest of friends now,
17:26we actually knew each other
17:27for a really long time anyway.
17:28Very long time.
17:29But I've never really
17:30asked you about your dancing.
17:32When did you start?
17:34My mum actually brought me
17:35to a ballet school
17:37when I was three
17:38in St. Petersburg, Russia.
17:40They're doing this test
17:41where they touch your bones
17:42and then they said to her,
17:44we cannot take her
17:45because she will be too tall.
17:47And they said
17:48she will be about
17:49176, 177 centimetres
17:52and I'm exactly
17:53176 centimetres.
17:56No way.
17:56It is crazy, isn't it?
17:57And they knew you
17:57just by touching your bones?
17:58Just by touching my joints.
17:59I wonder if they can tell
18:00if I'll ever win strictly.
18:02I was so happy
18:03because I told my mum
18:04that I don't actually
18:05like the costumes.
18:06I'd much rather do
18:07the ballroom and latching.
18:09Wow, that's so cute.
18:09Yeah, so that's when
18:10I started,
18:11when you started.
18:11I started dancing at two.
18:14Over here in the UK
18:15there's so many more girls
18:16that do ballroom and latching
18:18dancing than boys.
18:20So there's lots of
18:21same-sex partnerships
18:22and all I wanted
18:23was a boy dance partner
18:24and I used to ask
18:25for one for Christmas.
18:27But I remember...
18:28That's the cutest thing
18:29I ever heard.
18:29I used to save
18:30my pocket money
18:31to buy one.
18:34You got your first one
18:35at four.
18:35Four.
18:36He was seven years old
18:38and he was so embarrassed
18:40because I was so short.
18:41So he always asked me
18:43just please not to tell anyone
18:45that you are four.
18:46I know, I know.
18:48It was crazy.
18:49My mum used to do this hair
18:50like very high on top there
18:52to just make me
18:53a little bit higher.
18:55So at the age of 12
18:56I met this wonderful teacher
18:58and I really was so
18:59passionate to go
19:01and study with her.
19:02I had to move to Italy
19:03on my own.
19:0512 is really, really young
19:07to move.
19:08It was a really hard choice
19:09for my parents
19:10and I'm really grateful
19:11for giving me
19:13the opportunity to go
19:14and pursue my goal.
19:19I finished school
19:21and I went to university
19:22and then went on to stage
19:24and just fell in love.
19:25Did you always wanted to go
19:27from competitive career
19:28to the theatre
19:28or it just happened?
19:30Maybe I'll use dancing
19:32the thing that I've done
19:32for my whole life
19:33and just try and make
19:35a career out of it
19:36and then I would see
19:37like all of my friends
19:38kind of transition
19:40into the world
19:42of Strictly Cup dancing
19:43and I was just like
19:44I really want to do that job.
19:46So I auditioned
19:48for a few years
19:49before I finally got the job.
19:50I kind of really
19:51didn't want to take
19:53no for an answer
19:53so I kept trying again
19:54and kept trying again.
19:56When I got the call
19:57I remember
19:58just thinking
19:59this is it.
20:01When I finished
20:01my competitive career
20:02I just really wanted
20:04to try something new.
20:05I remember
20:06Jason Gilkinson
20:08asking if I would like
20:09to be his assistant
20:10and I remember saying
20:11absolutely yes.
20:12So I had a call with him
20:14and two days later
20:14I was already here.
20:16I remember sitting there
20:17for two years
20:18thinking I just so want
20:21to be on that floor.
20:22In 2018
20:23I actually joined the show.
20:26It was such a
20:27magical experience.
20:30It is special
20:30the first time
20:31you dance on that floor.
20:32Very special.
20:35What would you say
20:36to a younger dancer Lauren?
20:39Dance how you feel
20:41don't dance how
20:42you think you should look.
20:44That's a great one.
20:45How about you?
20:48I would say
20:49well done
20:50I love you
20:53and I'm proud of you.
20:55Little determined
20:56Luba.
20:56She made it.
20:58Mmm.
20:59Yay.
20:59She's not finished yet.
21:00Wait.
21:01Oh I like that.
21:02It's only starting.
21:03Watch this face.
21:04Watch this face.
21:05What surprise have we got
21:11coming up from Luba?
21:12Can't wait.
21:13Now our next guest
21:14let their hearts
21:15lead the way
21:16as they shared a story
21:17that truly mattered to them.
21:19But after mixed reviews
21:20from the judges
21:20for the Roomba
21:21can George and Alexis
21:22salsa deliver enough
21:24heat and hips
21:25to get the Tower Ballroom
21:26on its feet?
21:27I'll be finding out
21:28after a reminder
21:29of last Saturday's performance.
21:30Sometimes it's about
21:34the music
21:35the feeling
21:36and the message
21:37and you delivered it
21:38with all of you.
21:41Technically it wasn't great
21:43but the story
21:44was absolutely
21:45magnificent.
21:47You told that beautifully.
21:48I have to tell you
21:51I loved it.
21:52I feel like
21:53you're the loveliest person
21:54to dance with
21:55in this competition.
21:57You're a wonderful
21:59wonderful partner.
22:02It's George
22:03and Alexis everybody.
22:06George
22:06your main goal
22:08was to give this dance
22:09to your family
22:09as a token
22:10of your love.
22:11How special
22:12was it on Saturday
22:13to feel that you
22:14actually achieved that
22:15and with so much pressure?
22:16Yeah.
22:17No, it was
22:18it was
22:19I mean it was very special
22:20to be able to do that.
22:21I'm grateful
22:22to even have the opportunity
22:23to do that song
22:24and for Alexis
22:27to be able to choreograph
22:27it in such a way
22:28that is so sort of lovely.
22:31But yeah,
22:31it does add
22:32a little bit more pressure.
22:33Yeah.
22:34And I felt like
22:35I felt it a little bit
22:36in the dance
22:36but you said to me beforehand
22:38just perform it.
22:41Just go for it.
22:42Like you can think
22:42about technique
22:43all your life
22:43but just perform it.
22:44This is sort of
22:45what you wanted
22:46the dance to be
22:46so go for it.
22:47Yeah,
22:48that's what it is.
22:49It's being in that moment
22:50and being like
22:51your truest
22:52most vulnerable
22:53beautiful self.
22:54And also you had
22:55your parents in the audience
22:55and Nikki and Sean
22:56were there watching.
22:57Yeah.
22:58What did they make
22:58of the performance afterwards?
22:59They were unbelievably proud of me
23:02and I went over
23:02and sort of obviously
23:03gave them a hug
23:04and stuff.
23:05They told me
23:05that they loved me
23:06and so that was nice
23:09to hear that
23:10for the first time.
23:11I'm joking.
23:14But my dad was like,
23:15he just said,
23:16I don't know why
23:16you've put that much
23:18pressure on yourself.
23:19That's just like insane
23:20but he was very happy
23:22with it
23:22and so was my mum.
23:23But like you wanted to achieve
23:24what a beautiful gift
23:24to give to them.
23:25Yeah.
23:26What a beautiful,
23:27beautiful gift.
23:28And Alexis,
23:28at the end of your dance
23:29you said to George,
23:31you did it.
23:32You literally said
23:32those words to him.
23:33How challenging was it
23:35in the training process
23:36to do this dance
23:37that was so emotional
23:38for the two of you really?
23:39Yeah, I mean,
23:40it's challenging
23:41because you're being vulnerable
23:43and you're putting yourself
23:44out there,
23:45putting your story out there
23:46and he definitely
23:48was putting that pressure
23:49on himself
23:50and I was just like,
23:51at the end of the day,
23:52I want you to do this
23:54for you,
23:54for your family
23:55and be proud
23:56of how you felt after.
23:57Yeah.
23:58And I think that's where
23:59we really dug
23:59on that performance
24:00and we took it day by day
24:02and I was just so proud
24:03with how we did
24:04and it was so beautiful
24:05to dance with him
24:06in that
24:06because I felt it
24:07as I was dancing
24:07with him too.
24:08It was really special.
24:09Would you say
24:09that you actually felt
24:10like a dancer
24:11in that moment?
24:13I think so.
24:14I mean,
24:14I think it was one of the,
24:16I definitely felt myself
24:17not doing it
24:18as well as we'd done
24:19in the past
24:20but I think
24:20it was the first time
24:21that I completely
24:22looked past that
24:23and was just like,
24:24okay with like the,
24:26just the feeling
24:26of how it went.
24:27Darling, you danced.
24:29It was amazing.
24:31Well, we also saw
24:32on social someone else
24:33who was very proud
24:34of that performance,
24:35your sister Emily.
24:36She said this.
24:38She wrote,
24:38thank you for honoring
24:39our amazing mom
24:41in such a stunning dance,
24:42Georgie.
24:43And beautiful choreography
24:44from Alexis.
24:45That was truly beautiful.
24:47You were so brave
24:48this evening
24:49and I am so incredibly
24:50proud of you.
24:51What lovely words
24:52from Emily.
24:54And speaking of choreography,
24:56Alexis,
24:57you chose to take
24:58the Roomba
24:58with a more contemporary
24:59direction.
25:01After hearing
25:01Craig's comments
25:02about it not actually
25:03being a Roomba,
25:04reflecting on it,
25:05are you still happy
25:06you chose that style?
25:07I'm very happy with it
25:08and obviously,
25:09I respect what
25:10all the judges say
25:11and we appreciate
25:12the feedback,
25:13the constructive criticism.
25:14I do feel like
25:15that there was
25:16Roomba content
25:17in it as well.
25:18It was definitely
25:18danced more contemporary
25:19but we still had our
25:20swivels,
25:22spot turns,
25:23a la manas,
25:24opening outs,
25:25telespins and
25:27overturns.
25:28She's like,
25:29guys,
25:29let me just tell you.
25:31But yeah,
25:31it was definitely
25:32my goal,
25:33especially with the song,
25:34it moved me
25:35in such that
25:36floaty,
25:37airy way
25:37and so I wanted
25:38to kind of
25:39take that approach
25:40onto the Roomba.
25:41Yeah.
25:42Well, sometimes
25:42it's more than
25:43about the steps
25:44and that's what
25:45you delivered
25:45with that Roomba
25:46so well done again.
25:47Thank you.
25:47And the Roomba's done.
25:48We're switching gears
25:49ever so slightly.
25:51You're doing a salsa
25:52to this.
25:57That is what
25:57this party
25:58Bob's so clear.
26:00I mean,
26:01talk about a shift.
26:02Yeah,
26:02that's a real one.
26:04Oh my gosh.
26:05But it's great.
26:06It's a great shift.
26:07Now,
26:07everybody wants to make it
26:08to this point
26:09in the competition.
26:10How does it feel
26:10knowing that you're
26:11about to dance
26:12in the legendary
26:13Tarabaru?
26:14I feel like I've heard
26:15a lot about it
26:16and I'm not quite,
26:18I don't know if I can,
26:19you can sort of
26:20prepare yourself
26:21for it.
26:22How do you prepare yourself?
26:23I know,
26:24but it's very,
26:25it feels very,
26:26it's like a privilege
26:27to sort of be
26:28on my own little
26:28dance journey
26:29and to have,
26:30to be able to dance
26:31somewhere that I know
26:32the pros and a lot
26:33of dancers
26:34would love
26:35to be able to dance.
26:37So that's,
26:38that'll be just
26:38like a very cool feeling
26:39I think.
26:40I promise you,
26:40once you get there,
26:41you're going to feel
26:41the magic in that space.
26:43It's beautiful.
26:44And unless,
26:44it's also your first time
26:45going to the iconic
26:46Tower Ballroom.
26:48What are you most
26:48looking forward to
26:49about doing your salsa there?
26:50I think experiencing
26:52it with George,
26:52we're,
26:53this is such a,
26:53this is such a big first
26:55for both of us.
26:57And so I am just
26:58so excited.
26:59This routine
27:00has been so fun.
27:01Yeah.
27:02And this is the two
27:03of you on Tuesday.
27:06What made you laugh?
27:07Fill me in.
27:08What made me laugh
27:09is that I can see
27:10that I was clearly
27:11waffling some form
27:12of nonsense
27:13to you the whole way
27:14through.
27:14Yes.
27:14And my hips were hurting
27:15as I was kicking
27:16so I just looked
27:17like a noodle
27:17at the minute.
27:18Well,
27:19it's all right
27:19because we're leaving
27:20it for the surprise
27:20on Saturday night,
27:21everybody.
27:22But how excited
27:23are you to be dancing
27:24with extra dancers?
27:25You've got five
27:26additional dancers
27:26in the routine with you.
27:27How's that going?
27:28I think initially
27:29I said to Alexis,
27:31I was like,
27:31this could go horribly
27:32wrong.
27:33That is like terrifying
27:35to me,
27:35the fact that like
27:37usually I'm sort of
27:38just the lower 50%
27:40of dancers in the room.
27:41Now I'm sort of 10%
27:43maybe.
27:45It's really quite scary.
27:47But I feel like
27:49because of the way
27:50the Salsa is,
27:51because of the song
27:51we've got,
27:52it just kind of
27:53aids to the whole thing.
27:54It does.
27:54And obviously,
27:55I'm aware they weren't
27:56there to try and
27:56sort of steal the show.
27:57But it's all sort of
27:59just lifting up
28:00to this sort of
28:01just like party atmosphere
28:02and it's just like
28:02really fun.
28:03But they're there
28:03for you, George.
28:04I know.
28:04They're there for you.
28:05And just feed off
28:06of that energy.
28:07Exactly, yeah.
28:07Because the Salsa
28:08I mean to rock this party,
28:09right?
28:09That's the name of the song.
28:10Yes.
28:10So just literally
28:11look around the room
28:12when you're dancing
28:12with all of them
28:13and be like,
28:13oh cool,
28:14that guy's looking good.
28:15That girl's looking great.
28:15I'm going to look
28:16even better.
28:17That would be my advice.
28:18Bring the party.
28:19Well, good luck
28:20on Saturday.
