A dramatic incident unfolded in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki district when a newlywed bride vanished just hours after her wedding rituals were completed.

On Wednesday morning, as preparations for the vidaai were underway, the bride’s family noticed that Pallavi was missing from her room. Initially assuming she was nearby, both families searched for hours. By noon, panic spread as she remained untraceable.

Preliminary reports suggest that the bride may have eloped with her alleged lover. Police believe she quietly left the house late at night after the wedding, amid the exhaustion and chaos of the celebrations.

The groom, Sunil Kumar Gautam, who arrived with around 90 guests on Tuesday night for the ceremonies, was forced to return home without his bride after all rituals had been completed — including the jaimala and a stage dance by the couple.

The groom’s family has lodged a complaint against the bride’s family. Police have begun an investigation, examining mobile phone locations and CCTV footage to trace Pallavi’s movements.
