00:10pleasure to declare today Chadwick Boseman Day in Hollywood!

00:16Thank you, Blueberry.

00:30What a joy it is to be here today to celebrate someone we love so dearly.

00:38Thank you to everyone who made this day possible, our friends and sponsors at Disney, Marvel,

00:43Marvel, Disney, Anna Martinez, and the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.

00:50In life, Chad was more than an actor or even an artist.

00:55He was a spiritual teacher, fortified by a family and close friends that kept him grounded

01:02in faith, a team that believed in him, protected him, and fought for him, colleagues that trusted

01:14his vision, that lifted him up and forged a real brotherhood.

01:21You have no idea how pivotal those moments were.

01:28Chad taught all of us a great deal.

01:30His heart was so vast he could give each and every person a specific part of him and still

01:35have so much left to share with the world.

01:41Only after he passed, Chad came to me in a dream and said that there was only so much that he

01:52could do from here.

01:55These words were echoed by a close friend only days later as if to say, in case you didn't

02:00hear me the first time, I still smell incense in the wind and see his repeating pattern like

02:10being the 28th recipient of an honor on the Walk of Fame, for example.

02:18These synchronicities that are far too frequent to be called random remind me that he's still

02:23teaching.

02:30Chad, today we recognize a lifetime of artistry.

02:33We recognize your skill and your devotion and we cement your legacy as a hero and an icon.

02:40You lived with honor and you walked in truth.

02:43You are as brilliant as you were beautiful and as courageous as you were kind.

02:49We love you, we miss you, we thank you.

02:54And I would like to share a few words from the man himself, Chadwick Boseman's Instructions

03:02for Creative Work.

03:05Write the vision and make it plain.

03:08Keep that word fastened in your journal and shut it in your bolted drawer until the appointed

03:13time.

03:14Let the ideas, the visions that God gives you fester inside of you.

03:19Let the word that he has put inside of you bubble over.

03:22Do not speak it to another until the time appointed by God.

03:26The secrecy of the vision is the second stone laid in the building process.

03:32It is the project's fortress.

03:35For a word spoken to early on the ears of men is a bulldozer and a stumbling block.

03:43Protect the self that entered the process and be made into a new creature through the work.

03:50Chad it was our honor to watch you transform and our honor to be transformed by you.
