00:00South Africa is making final preparations to host world leaders at the G20 summit in Johannesburg this weekend,
00:07a historic first for the African continent, but one overshadowed by the absence of United States.
00:15So with the U.S. pulling out of the G20, I think it's quite important to know that it has a significant impact
00:21on a lot of the country's participation, like we saw with Argentina also pulling out,
00:26and other countries maybe not sending their presidents this side.
00:30So I think it does have an impact, but in the end, a lot of the politicians and political analysts are actually saying
00:37that it can actually have a better positive impact because there's not going to be a shied show of another policy agenda.
00:44Johannesburg authorities have launched a multi-million dollar clean-up campaign
00:49to repair broken infrastructure ahead of the summit, a move many residents view as superficial.
00:54Hosting this G20, I don't really think it's going to be beneficial for South Africans,
00:59for the ordinary South Africans.
01:01It's just a way to waste money, if I can say.
01:06Yeah, I really don't think it's going to be beneficial to the average South African person.
01:10I'm happy that, you know, world leaders are coming to South Africa,
01:14and they are aware of this propaganda that is trying to sell in saying that there is genocide in our country.
01:22So I'm very happy, and I think those who will be coming will have a story to tell as they go back.
01:31South Africa has used this G20 presidency to press for solutions
01:35to financial challenges facing developing nations, especially climate-related distress.
