00:00Let's set the scene. In today's NBA, basketball transcends sport. It's a cultural and artistic
00:06stage. The league is dominated by superstar personalities who are brands in themselves.
00:12While they play for a team, they each have their own entourage. They're constantly evaluated on
00:17their style, their attitude, and their on-court supremacy. Often, they appear too established for
00:24intensive coaching and too iconic for traditional structures. However, sometimes you get an NBA
00:29team that completely bucks that trend. A team that isn't afraid to be different. This is a team
00:35that proudly talks about getting floor burns and dives for loose balls even in the middle of a
00:40regular season game in November. This is a team that beats its opponents through pure sincerity and
00:46effort, playing for a cause bigger than any individual player. I'm talking about a team
00:51like the Phoenix Suns. To give you a concrete example, they have led by at least 18 points
00:57in each of their last six games. And as their star, Devin Booker, said after their road victory
01:02over Portland on Tuesday, this is a team that is truly uniting behind its new rookie head coach.
01:08This is a really significant development. The coach, Jordan Ott, is what they call a basketball
01:14savant because of his deep understanding of the game and its future trends. But here's the thing.
01:19In most professions, the brilliant minds who can see deep into the mechanics of something
01:24aren't always the best with people skills. Ott, however, seems to be different. Whether he's
01:28drawing up a play during a timeout or designing the first defense that managed to contain a phenom
01:34like Victor Wembanyama early in this new season, he has clearly been able to connect with his players.
01:41The results speak for themselves. After 15 games, the Suns have a record of nine wins and six losses.
01:47Statistically, they rank eighth in the entire NBA in offensive rating and 11th in defensive rating.
01:54Those are honestly amazing benchmarks for this early in the season. But there's more to the story
01:59than just the numbers. This new coaching staff has successfully kept their center.
02:05Mark Williams, healthy and playing with energy. They are getting the absolute best versions of players
02:10like Royce O'Neal and Grayson Allen. They have apparently won the trust of their superstar,
02:15Devin, Booker. And they are fully embracing the calculated fiery intensity of Dylan Brooks,
02:21the player who, in my view, has changed everything for this team. Dylan Brooks has transformed the
02:27Suns' identity almost overnight, turning them from a team that was hunted into the Hunters.
02:33His tough demeanor, his on-court antics, and his highly underrated offensive skills have given the
02:38Suns a dangerous and aggressive edge they were desperately missing. As surprising as it might sound,
02:44my analysis is that he is actually more valuable to this specific team than a legendary player like
02:50Kevin Durant could ever be. I believe he will be handsomely rewarded for this soon and will be a
02:55key member of owner Matt Ishbia's Suns for many years to come. Now a lot can change over the next 12
03:01games. The Suns might come back down to earth as they face a schedule of better teams and much
03:06stiffer competition. But the character of this team suggests they aren't the type to back down from a
03:11fight. In the process, they are proving their owner, Matt Ishbia, right? After his bold predictions
03:17before the season started, you'll recall that Ishbia, an owner who had faced a lot of criticism,
03:24publicly guaranteed that the Valley would feel proud of this current team. He said we would enjoy
03:30watching a team in complete alignment. Many skeptics didn't believe him, but Ishbia wasn't deterred.
03:36He even publicly challenged commentator Bill Simmons to a bet on social media, insisting the Suns would
03:41be a far better defensive team in the 2025-26 season. So far, Ishbia has been correct about
03:48almost everything, and that's very reassuring for Suns fans, especially when you consider his
03:53ultimate promise to the state of Arizona, the one that includes championship parades somewhere down
03:58the road. So, what do you think the ultimate ceiling is for this new-look Suns team?
