00:00Welcome to a deep dive into Bradley Beal's challenging night and his new chapter in the
00:05NBA. In a recent game on Thursday, Bradley Beal experienced one of the most challenging
00:10shooting nights of his career, during a 1-15-1-0-2 victory for the Suns against his former
00:15team, Beal, who previously played for the Suns, struggled significantly, making only
00:21two of his 14 attempts from the field, including just one of five from beyond the arc, resulting
00:27in a total of five points. This performance, with a shooting percentage of 14.3%, ranks
00:33among the lowest in his career over 586 regular season games, as noted by StatHead, having
00:39spent two years in Phoenix where he often felt out of sync with his role, and following a
00:44brief stint with the Los Angeles Clippers, where he played around 20 minutes per game, Beal
00:49expressed to The Athletic that he was pleased to finally see his shot attempts reach double
00:54digits for the first time this season, especially with teammates Kawhi Leonard and James Harden
00:59sidelined. Beal reflected on his shooting attempts, asking, when's the last time I shot 14 shots
01:05for the Suns? The last occasion was on April 9th, when he successfully made 8 of 17 shots.
01:11This marked the 25th instance in which Beal attempted at least 14 shots during the 53 games
01:18he played in the 2024-25 season. In comparison, he had 27 such games in the 2023-24 season, his
01:27inaugural year with the Suns. Throughout the 106 games he has played with the team, he has consistently
01:32taken at least 20 shots in each game. His time with the Los Angeles team has not been entirely
01:38smooth, as he began the season with a restriction on his playing time, due to knee soreness. In fact,
01:45the 19 minutes and 39 seconds he spent on the court during the game in Phoenix on Thursday
01:50marked his lowest playing time of the season. However, one positive aspect he values is that
01:57his team encourages him to simply be himself. Everyone is pushing me, saying, keep shooting,
02:02go, go, go, Beal shared with The Athletic. They tell me just be you, be you, be you. That kind of
02:07support is really motivating, and I appreciate hearing that. Suns fans might recall that Beal's
02:14previous coach, Mike Budenholzer, had expressed a desire for him to emulate Drew Holiday, which
02:19was a significant shift from Beal's established playing style. Throughout his NBA career, reflecting
02:25on his experiences in Phoenix, Beal described the situation that ultimately fell apart, as
02:30a significant what-if scenario. He also expressed his enthusiasm for his current circumstances and
02:36the opportunities ahead. He is confident that Devin Booker and Kevin Durant are also thrilled
02:42with their current circumstances. Having already played two games against each other in the early
02:46part of the season, Phoenix and LA are set to compete once more on Saturday, just under 10 games
02:54into the season. So do you believe a change of scenery is what Beal needed to rediscover his form?
