00:00All right, we're here at the Dallas airport and got word on the way here that Miko Ranton is not going to face supplemental discipline.
00:08First hit on Alexander Romanov at the end of last night's 3-2 Islanders win over the Stars.
00:15That is a bit of a surprise.
00:19I assume that the league agreed with Glenn Galutzen's interpretation of the hit.
00:25The Stars coach said that he thought Scott Mayfield's skates got tangled with Ranton and kind of propelled him forward.
00:32But the Islanders are, you can assume the Islanders are going to be pretty upset about that.
00:40They were, after the game, understandably pretty emotional about the play.
00:46Patrick Waugh called it disrespectful, said that when you see some of these numbers, everybody knows you have to lay off.
00:52And John Gabriel Pajot said, you know, it's, yeah, the two points are great, but, you know, that's our friend out there who got hit and appeared to suffer a pretty serious injury.
01:05We still haven't gotten word on anything specific other than that Romanov didn't have to go to the hospital last night, which is obviously good news.
01:13But, you know, he had shoulder surgery a couple years ago.
01:20He's dealt with kind of a myriad of injuries, mostly upper body.
01:27And it looked like his head kind of hit the glass first.
01:31It looked like his leg was maybe hurting as well.
01:36You know, you don't want to speculate, but obviously it didn't look great.
01:41So we are still waiting for word on that and may not find out anything until Morning Skate in Detroit tomorrow.
01:50But certainly wouldn't be surprised if Marshall Warren or Travis Mitchell or somebody, Isaiah George, is up from Bridgeport to help to fill in there.
