00:00Well that's what's in store in
00:02the near future here on Showtime.
00:04Let's bring you back to the
00:05present as we come tonight from
00:08the beautiful Regent Hotel in
00:10the serene suburbs of Las Vegas
00:13away from the baddening crowd of
00:14the Las Vegas Strip our venue
00:15this evening the grand ballroom
00:17it's packed here at the region
00:19and coming up next coming up
00:21rather briskly our main event
00:24it's top rated knockout
00:25specialist David Tua taking on
00:27former Cruiserweight champion
00:28Robert Daniels in a heavyweight
00:30bout scheduled for twelve with
00:32emphasis on the word schedule.
00:38Well I tell you it seems the
00:39closer David Tua gets to a title
00:41shot the more quotable he becomes.
00:43Example he recently likened the
00:45other heavyweight contenders to
00:46sheep following each other
00:48around saying the one thing they
00:49have in common is they don't want
00:51to fight him to a said trust me
00:53I'm a country boy from New
00:54Zealand and I know about sheep.
00:56We raise New Zealand lamb for
00:58the world.
00:59Here's more Tua on Tua.
01:07I taste blood.
01:09I taste fear.
01:11And really there's no hold back.
01:16You know once I get the guy hurt
01:20I have to get him out of there.
01:21You know once I can taste and I can
01:24feel that it's not holding back.
01:28Well I truly believe me personally
01:30something that I'm born with.
01:32Something that I'm blessed with.
01:33I believe it's a God given talent
01:36you know that I have.
01:37and I'm very fortunate to have it.
01:40His sheer power and aggressive
01:42attitude have made David Tua a
01:44formidable force in the heavyweight
01:46division.
01:47The Ring magazine has proclaimed
01:48him the biggest puncher in the
01:49division and his peers and maybe
01:51future opponents believe he's the
01:52best of the young heavyweights.
01:54I like him.
01:55He's a fighter.
01:57He's a young guy.
01:58He's a tough guy not afraid.
02:00But more than that he can take some
02:01punishment and that's why I respect
02:02more than me anybody can kick your ass.
02:04What do you do when you get your ass kicked?
02:07I wish I was I wish I was to train
02:09and stuff.
02:10Good fighter.
02:12Good fighter.
02:13Been there for a while.
02:14And one of the fighters that people
02:17are ducking because he's a force.
02:20Ranked number one by both the IBF and
02:22the WBC Tua is tentatively scheduled
02:25to meet Lennox Lewis to fight for a
02:27world title this fall.
02:28In the eyes of the public in the eyes
02:30of the world the fans.
02:32He's the man and he's got to fight
02:34the top contender.
02:35He's got to fight me.
02:37So the way I look at it.
02:38I'll fight Lennox for the bounce
02:41without the bounce.
02:42Two rounds, one round, ten rounds.
02:44Anyplace, anytime.
02:46You know all I need is the opportunities
02:48and chance.
02:49But before he can meet Lewis he must get
02:51by tonight's opponent Robert Daniels.
02:53This is a title fight.
02:54You know this is the way I approach
02:57this fight.
02:58This is the way I look at this fight.
02:59It's the title fight for me.
03:00Because whoever they put in front of me
03:02regardless of who it is I go out with
03:04the same respect and the same focus
03:07and the same hunger as well.
03:09So this is a this is a title fight for me.
03:19David Tua not sheepish with his words
03:21and commanding respect from his peers
03:22to his opponent Robert Daniels once
03:24bought our own Bobby Chez as we
03:25mentioned earlier.
03:26That was around nine years ago as
03:28Bobby won a decision to capture the
03:30WBA Cruiserweight Championship back
03:31here with the former world champion
03:33Bobby Chez.
03:34What were Daniels faults that you were
03:35able to capitalize on and what advice
03:38not that he needs it would you give to Tua?
03:40Well as I was watching the tape of Daniels
03:42part of my keys to victory were establishing
03:44the jab and speed.
03:45Daniels is a little slow and he's very defensive.
03:47He couldn't get past my jab.
03:48He couldn't cut me off.
03:49Now I was a light heavy moving up the cruiser.
03:52So I wasn't quite as strong as him.
03:53But I used my jab and my speed to offset his strength.
03:54And I took his championship for Tua.
03:55It's a different thing.
03:56Tua not only matches.
03:57He probably betters his speed.
03:58The power is not even comparable.
03:59I think all Tua really has to do, Steve,
04:00is go forward, punch until Daniels falls.
04:02Yeah.
04:03We saw what happened in Tua's last fight.
04:04He knocked out journeyman Obed Sullivan
04:05in just 51 seconds.
04:06Are you looking for a similar result here tonight?
04:08You know, Steve, I'm not sure that 51 seconds
04:09is how quickly this fight will end.
04:11I think that Daniels was very defensive.
04:12Maybe hard to hit early.
04:13He'll bob.
04:14He'll leave.
04:15He'll cover.
04:16He's a shorter, smaller target.
04:17Doesn't be tough to get the clean shot very early.
04:18But he just doesn't possess that much power to get Tua off him.
04:21Once Tua gets rolling, it's a steamroller.
04:22Yeah, which leads us to your keys to victory
04:23for Tua versus Daniels.
04:24Well, David Tua, he has got such power.
04:28Keep the pressure on.
04:29Keep unloading the bomb.
04:30Also, strong body work.
04:31He'll break in half.
04:32And that big left hook is a big left hook.
04:33He's a big left hook.
04:34He's a big left hook.
04:35He's a big left hook.
04:36He's a big left hook.
04:37He's a big left hook.
04:38He's a big left hook.
04:39He's a big left hook.
04:40He's a big left hook.
04:41He's a big left hook.
04:42He's a big left hook.
04:43He's a big left hook.
04:44He's a big right hand.
04:45He's a big left hook.
04:46He's a big right hand.
04:47Also, strong body work.
04:48He'll break in half.
04:49And that big left hook is amazing.
04:50Here, Darrell Wilson is trying to keep him off, but Tua's hands are always up.
04:53Pretty good defense.
04:54Wilson tries to jab and the right hand, which Tua blocks.
04:56He comes in.
04:57He moves his head like Mike Tyson.
04:58Very tough to hit cleanly.
05:00Now watch him set his feet.
05:02He bends.
05:03He gets the leverage.
05:04There's the knees going down.
05:05And this left hook will come right over the dropping hand of Wilson.
05:09And it is literally one punch knockout power.
05:11For Tua.
05:16Flip side of that coin.
05:17Robert Daniels.
05:18Well, Daniels has got to do a lot of different things.
05:20Establish a good, strong jab if he's going to keep Tua off.
05:22Stuff it in his face.
05:23And also, tight defense and counterpunch.
05:25And also, good side-to-side movement.
05:27If he doesn't use that movement, he's going to be in trouble.
05:29Here, his hands are up high.
05:30And Lawrence Clay Bay is going to whip a hook that misses.
05:33And watch the immediate counter by Daniels, who possesses a little bit of power of his own.
05:37He gets Clay Bay a legitimate heavyweight in some trouble.
05:41And he chased him.
05:42Now again, speed's a little bit of a factor.
05:44Daniels, because he's actually a heavyweight shorter, he cannot be that far away from Tua.
05:50Tua will reach out and eventually hit him.
05:52If he gets Tua in trouble, he has to stay inside the eye of the storm.
05:55Get on the inside, upper cuts and hooks on the inside.
05:58Here, he's finishing off Clay Bay.
05:59But what he needs to do to it, if he ever gets in trouble, is stay on top of him much better.
06:04Here at work.
06:06All right, Bobby Ches.
06:07Let's go to Jimmy Lennon Jr. to bring on Robert Daniels.
06:10Ladies and gentlemen, prepare to welcome the boxers as they make their way to the ring for this, the main event of the evening.
06:25First, please welcome tonight's challenger and former cruiserweight world champion, Robert Daniels.
06:32Let's go.
06:33Let's go.
06:34Let's go.
06:35Let's go.
06:36Let's go.
06:37Let's go.
06:38Let's go, baby.
06:39Come on.
06:40Let's go.
06:41Let's go.
06:42Let's go.
06:43Let's go.
06:44Let's go.
06:45Let's go.
06:46Let's go.
06:47Robert, preacher man Daniels, who has never been knocked down or out, turned pro at 15,
06:52was already eight and one before he reached the legal age of 18, a solid cruiserweight career.
06:57But he couldn't make much money there, so he moved up.
07:00He beat white Mohamed Khawi to win the WBA cruiserweight belt after two successful defenses.
07:06He lost the belt to our own Bobby Ches via decision.
07:09March 8, 1991 in Atlantic City.
07:11He's fought in relative anonymity since in the last eight years.
07:1618, two and one with one no contest.
07:20And his last fight in January, a 15 fight win streak ended with a decision loss to undefeated Lawrence Claybait.
07:26Bobby, in all due respect to you.
07:29Daniels has probably never been in there with anyone who can hit as hard as Tua.
07:33Aside from dealing with Tua, his dangerous left inactivity could be a factor, not only out of the ring, but inactivity in the ring.
07:41You know what, one of the things I was talking about, he's too defensive minded, not offensive minded enough against a guy like Tua.
07:47If you don't put some hurt on him, you get some respect, you have no chance of winning.
07:50I think that David Tua brings so much to the table that Daniels will be lucky to survive a short distance.
07:55Could be a tough night ahead for Robert Daniels and let's send it back to Jimmy Lennon Jr. right now to bring on Mr. Tua.
08:05And now, ladies and gentlemen, making his way to the ring.
08:09Here is the defending champion introducing David Tua.
08:15Simon Dillard is at the sea-cha patients taking the satu-chaun, which is Nen台-Rella Martinez.
08:19Letting him Energiey out to be a kid if he doesn't help you shake your hand.
08:24Now there is mentioned confiance that Th Street will handle life as well.
08:25And ahora promises it to the fraternal hockey and staffing.
08:28Stop it and standards that the проблема를 support Tua.
08:29Isn't that too much for?
08:30Even if they периode for any pizza, African-l uncontrolled, the wollen incredible孩子 beating the standard
08:35Initially.
08:36I don't know how many helicopters can get to be effective in trying not to be effective at work.
08:38I don't think it's a sp1, but a man at home.
08:39That's awesome lastias point the league五X critic is news from President Johnson signing steel,
08:40Today's the Open Sequ손.
08:41Oh
09:11The blowing of the horn indicates a warning of danger for Tua's opponent, and the traditional
09:19Samoan drums, a form of communication among Samoan people used in times of peace and war.
09:25Tonight, they signify the war that is to come, and here is the warrior, number one ranked
09:32David Tua, he of the lethal left hook and growing popularity, exceptional power combined
09:38with a good chin, it took three left hands to send Obed Sullivan crumbling to the canvas
09:43a mere 49 days ago in the first, he feels he's ready for Lennox Lewis now, it could happen
09:50in November, but most feel that he is a bona fide, legit contender for the heavyweight throne.
10:00And I know Bobby Tua says he prepares the same way for every opponent, but do you find it
10:06at all a bit curious, I don't know Tony Page raised the issue with the Tua earlier, but
10:10here in his final tune-up before a mandatory with a big guy like Lennox Lewis, that Tua is
10:15fighting someone close to his own size.
10:17You know what, last fight he had, a guy six foot three, six three and a half, with a good
10:21jab Obed Sullivan, the fight didn't go a minute, I don't think it's real relevant, when it's
10:25time to train for Lennox Lewis, he will have the big sporting partners, remember the long
10:29reach and the tall height.
10:30Right now what he's doing, he's staying what I call in the zone, staying focused, staying
10:34sharp, being active, being productive, I don't think this particular fight's going to matter
10:38one bit.
10:39All right, let's size him up as we check out the tail of the tape, two of him four years
10:44younger, big contrast in height for the first fight, two of Daniels even at 5'10", Daniels
10:48with the four inches in reach, at Wednesday's weigh-in to it, down almost 10 pounds from his
10:53career-high last fight, still outweighed Daniels by about 24 pounds.
10:56And the key rules for these marginal titles, no standing eight, no three knocked down, a
11:02fighter cannot be saved by the bell in any round, if an accidental headbutt occurs before
11:06the end of the fourth, it's a no contest, after the end of the fourth, we go to the cards.
11:11So here at the Grand Ballroom at the Regent in Las Vegas, getting set for our main event,
11:16David Tua versus Robert Daniels, the official introductions from our ring announcer, the classy

12:40And now, ladies and gentlemen in attendance and boxing fans joining us around the world,
12:46live from the Regent Las Vegas, it's showtime!
12:51Introducing to you first, ladies and gentlemen, the challenger on my left, fighting out of
13:03the blue corner, entering the ring, wearing purple trunks with yellow trim, hailing from
13:09Miami, Florida, he weighed in at 219 pounds, with a record of 39 wins, four losses, one draw,
13:18and one no contest, he has 32 wins coming by, way of knockout.
13:24Ladies and gentlemen, here is the former WBA Cruiserweight Champion of the World, introducing
13:30Robert Preacherman Daniels!
13:40And his opponent across the ring is the defending champion on my right, fighting out of the red
13:46corner, wearing black trunks with white trim, fighting out of it, representing South Auckland,
13:52New Zealand, he weighed in at 243 and one-half pounds, his record stands at 36 wins, one loss
14:00with 31 big wins, coming by way of knockout, currently ranked the number one heavyweight
14:07contender in the world, by both the IBF and the WBC, ladies and gentlemen, here is the hard-hitting
14:15IBF Intercontinental and USBA Heavyweight Champion, he is known as the Tua Man, introducing David Tua!
14:27And once again, a referee in charge, Joe Cortez, now to give instructions, 12 rounds of championship
14:41boxing schedule.
14:43All right, gentlemen, this fight is for the Intercontinental IBF Heavyweight title and the
14:49U.S.B.A. Championship, I expect a good, clean fight, obey my commands at all time. Remember guys,
14:57I'm fair, but I'm firm, understand? Touch them up.
15:05Well, we'll see if the Samoan comes out throwing like he usually does, 14 first-round KOs.
15:10While the opposition might be questionable, Tua calls this the most important fight of his career,
15:15it's the last assignment before the fight for the world titles with Lennox Lewis. Daniels,
15:20not overly fast, can be lazy, can be out-quit, which could be a major problem versus a guy like
15:26Tua. With Tua, all it takes sometimes is one punch, but just for the record, Daniels never down.
15:38I talked to Robert Daniels briefly last night, he said, listen, I know I can't punch with this guy,
15:42I got to make him miss, and I got to counter, and I got to move, and I got to make him miss,
15:45get him tired, take him in the later rounds, but I just don't know that he has anything to keep
15:50too often, and those punches, if you can absorb him all day, they're going to be painful.
15:54Tua goes right at him, going upstairs, and to the body.
16:00Look at the power behind these punches, and Daniels is down, seconds in.
16:05Great game. One, five, six, seven.
16:11See, if you watch there, Daniels never offered up one piece of offense.
16:15Didn't fire it up, didn't fire, didn't give Tua anything to worry about, coming back.
16:26Around the 38-second mark of the first round, Daniels.
16:29He said he's got to move to his left use the jab angles don't get caught on the ropes but a rugged start for Daniels look at those tree stumps for legs for David
16:59Daniels a human punching bag not showing any movement standing right in front of Tua and getting back we approach the final minute of round one can Daniels make it out of the first round
17:29almost everything Tua throws landing with authority
17:37there's that left uppercut that gets through the defense
17:46a little left hook there by Daniels finally
17:50he's taking his time now and just having a gym workout Daniels isn't making him pay for anything
17:56he needs to put some power behind a couple of shots and see not only what does Tua have in his gym although I'm pretty sure he's got the stuff
18:03I saw him and I got the Bucci not only was I impressed with the way I got the Bucci look
18:07it was because of that fight I know how good Tua is
18:10that I know just how good I'd be a Bucci
18:11oh come on keep the ball man keep him up keep him up
18:15a little cautioning from Joe Cortez to David Tua to keep the punches up
18:19as we head for the bell Daniels survives the opening round but he did go down early
18:27how you feel how you feel baby all right listen I don't let you put it in the rope
18:42you need to move I'm working hard with your body
18:45what you waiting what you waiting for with this guy
18:48I'm going to the middle come on my man
18:52very powerful David Tua goes right to Daniels who puts his back to the ropes and doesn't really offer up any offense to make Tua worry about it
19:06and Tua just starts working right hands around left uppercuts and he catches one good body shot right here
19:12and Tua puts him on the camera
19:14pretty safe to say Mr. Daniels has never felt this kind of wrath or power before
19:19but he has a world of fight in front of him
19:27Cuban Carlos saw Bernie in the corner of Daniels exhorting him on but
19:31might be futile round two it's scheduled for 12
19:35Daniels down 38 seconds of the first round
19:40off of a run
19:43right to
19:45this is like a workout for Tua
19:49no and again Daniels I know I'm saying it over and over but Daniels isn't stuffing anything hard
19:54he's not making him pay he's got to stuff that jab and fire right hand see if he can hurt Tua
19:59Tua just out strengthening overpowering
20:02Daniels
20:04now watch the head to the side guy watch the head to keep the punches up
20:10at least we got out of the first round of a fight
20:12there Daniels threw an overhand right with a little mustard on it he needs to do more of that take a shot put himself in a position to get some damage done out of his own
20:26to his manager Kevin Barry said they're pretty close to a signed deal with Lennox Lewis they'll work out the final detail starting August 1st
20:34on the final detail starting August 1st
20:39oh big right upper cut to the jaw
20:42another one
20:43to hurt him with that right upper cut Daniels down once again for the second time in two rounds
20:48four
20:49gets up quickly six
20:51you see in his eyes they glazed over a little bit that right up but really caught him well
20:55He's going to have to do it.
20:57He's going to have to do it.
20:59He's going to have to do it.
21:01Cortez asking Daniels, how you feeling?
21:03Just a quick nod of approval by Daniels,
21:05but he can't be feeling too good.
21:07He's not showing that he's in any hurry,
21:09taking his time, waiting him behind a light jab,
21:11not really pressing the issue.
21:13Yeah, this is a lot more patient than we've seen him.
21:15It's a lot more patient than I do,
21:17I'll tell you right now.
21:21Again, those spiraling right uppercuts
21:23in the end of Daniels.
21:25He said he was working on those uppercuts.
21:29In training.
21:31Well, Daniels did come off the rope
21:33with a nice left hook, didn't land.
21:35We need to do more of that.
21:37Thor fought 65 rounds
21:39in the last five weeks in preparation.
21:41And finishing up the rope.
21:49Tour with a big support group
21:55from his native Samara.
21:573, 2, 3, 3...
21:59Pounding shots to the head
22:01by Tour with the left hand.
22:02Double left übercup by Tour,
22:03very powerful, you're watching him bend his knees,
22:05Bend his knees and dig and turn in with that 240-plus pound.
22:13Daniels trying to answer back, but again, to no avail.
22:17Tua just smiles at him.
22:20Final seconds of the second round.
22:23Daniels has been down twice in the first two.
22:35Let's go with a barrage of punches on this guy now, okay?
22:40Not just one. You can't just give me one shot, Tua.
22:42Now, look, you're hurting him with the uppercut now.
22:44What happened to my double on the side?
22:46You're hurting him too much on the head now. Watch it, man.
22:48Look, what happened to my double?
22:51Boom, the body first and then the uppercut.
22:54Then finish off with the hook in the right hand.
22:57Tua working him on the ropes.
22:59There's a nice left uppercut. He stuffs in there.
23:01There's the right uppercut. That caught Daniels.
23:03That hurt him, and he gets hit with another one.
23:05There's a second one. That one really, you can see,
23:08it stood him up and really took his legs out from under him.
23:11And I saw in his eyes, because he's not far from us, Steve,
23:13he was hurt.
23:15Oh, second.
23:17Former fighter Ronnie Shields in the face of David Tua.
23:20Last time he went more than two rounds,
23:22December of 98, against Hasim Rahman.
23:25TKO round 10 in Miami,
23:27to his last three fights for one, two, and one round.
23:32You know, it almost seems as if,
23:34as when Tua turns it on,
23:36he hurts Daniels, gets some trouble.
23:37Then he turns it back off,
23:38almost as if he wants a little more work,
23:40or take his time.
23:41That I don't particularly understand.
23:43Ronnie Shields in the corner said,
23:44listen, only one punch a time,
23:46work him up, work the uppercut.
23:47Double, triple, and land the last one,
23:49load up with the left,
23:50but throw two or three.
23:55Muscular strong David Tua pulls it on.
23:58Daniels down for a third time in three rounds.
24:01Big left uppercut.
24:02He hurt Daniels.
24:03Daniels turned,
24:05and he was leaving himself extremely wide open.
24:07He really hurt.
24:09Nine.
24:10He doesn't want to continue,
24:11and Joe Cortez has stopped it here.
24:13In the early going of round three,
24:15Tua wins again.
24:19And Towers, there's some orange run back in the scheme.
24:21Towers is too big.
24:22Well, 25 of his 32 knockouts now in three rounds or less
24:35for David Tua.
24:39They keep lining him up,
24:41and Tua keeps knocking him down.
24:43His latest casualty, Robert Daniels,
24:45went down three times inside three rounds.
24:48Not exactly what you could label as stiff competition
24:51when Daniels coming in off a long stretch of inactivity
24:54as previous by the defeat,
24:56fairly not in the same class strength-wise as David Tua.
24:59Not many are.
25:04As Tua drums up, another victory.
25:07Continues to make it abundantly clear,
25:09Lennox Lewis is in his direct sights.
25:13David Tua goes to 37-1 with 32 KOs.
25:17He makes it 10-0 with nine knockouts
25:19since his only defeat to Ika Bayabuchi in 1997.
25:24And he maintains his number one ranking.
25:28And for what it's worth,
25:29remains the IVF Intercontinental and USBA Heavyweight Champion.
25:41Tua gets that left uppercut inside.
25:43You watch him, he bends there.
25:44He throws his punches so powerfully,
25:47there's the bends and digs up.
25:48Hurts Daniels with a double-left uppercut.
25:50Daniels turns here,
25:52and really, he could have gotten hurt pretty bad.
25:55He didn't quite get to the knee,
25:56and Tua was getting ready to wind up,
25:58and he saw the referee say,
26:00you know what, get out of here.
26:01And you can see Daniels had had enough.
26:04There, you see the bend?
26:05He bends, he gets that leverage,
26:06and he drives with all 240 pounds up.
26:09Terrific puncher, and very accurate.
26:15Daniels falls to 39-5-1 with one-dote contest
26:18and two straight defeats.
26:22Let's get the official word from our ring announcer,
26:25Jimmy Lennon-Jumbo.
26:30Ladies and gentlemen, we have the time.
26:3447 seconds in round number three.
26:38Our referee in charge, Joe Cortez,
26:40reaches the count of ten.
26:42He's the winner by way of knockout,
26:45and still champion, the Tua man,
26:48David Tua!
26:55The tranquil, soft-spoken,
26:57but very business-like David Tua.
27:01There's another W.
27:04A show of sportsmanship with the embrace
27:07to Robert Daniels, shaking everybody's hands.
27:10He really is a refreshing personality
27:14in the sport of boxing, don't you think?
27:16You know, he's a nice, sincere, humble man
27:18that works hard, believes in himself,
27:20and in the ring, he is nothing short of a vicious killer.
27:25Tremendous power exhibited by the Samoan, David Tua.
27:33As he poses for pictures, now in the ring.
27:36And let's get it up to Tony Page, all set.
27:39Thanks very much.
27:40I'm here with David Tua.
27:42You said in the fighter meetings
27:44you were going to work on some right uppercuts.
27:45You threw some.
27:46You threw some great power shots.
27:48Was that the whole idea?
27:49Yeah, well, first of all,
27:50I thank God for this great victory.
27:52I knew, I knew, I knew it was going to come out of China.
28:01A box is trying to stay alive.
28:02I mean, he's a veteran.
28:03A former World Cruiserweight Champion.
28:05And the best thing I can do is just to go out there and display
28:08why David Tua is the number one heavyweight contender in the world.
28:11Robert Daniels told us in the fighter meetings
28:13he was not going to stay against the ropes,
28:15but you kind of tracked him down and left him there,
28:17and you had him all to yourself.
28:18Well, that was the game plan.
28:19I mean, regardless of whatever he was trying to bring to the table,
28:22I was well prepared in the gym.
28:23I mean, I had guys staying on the ropes.
28:25I had guys running for me.
28:26And it was only a matter of time.
28:27I mean, tonight I came out in display.
28:30And it's only a matter of time.
28:31Lennox, let's get it on.
28:33Let's get it on, baby.
28:34There's no excuses now.
28:35Before we get to that, let's take a look at what happened tonight with the fight.
28:39You had him against the ropes.
28:40Here's the first knockdown.
28:42Here you are.
28:42You're pounding away.
28:43He's against the ropes.
28:44Can't get away.
28:46You got him right there.
28:47Well, I knew that, you know, I've watched the tape.
28:50I mean, one round on one of his fights when he fought Clay Bay.
28:53And when Clay Bay had him on the back foot, you know,
28:56he only, he just went defensive.
28:59So the best thing for me to do is to keep throwing that overhand right
29:03and come under with the left side uppercut or the right uppercut.
29:07Here's your second knockdown.
29:08That uppercut, that's what you talked about.
29:09It's right there.
29:10It's right there.
29:10I mean, you can't miss it.
29:11I mean, he had the guys on the rope.
29:13And what's the next thing that comes to him?
29:15The only thing he can do is defense himself.
29:16Here's the final knockdown.
29:17You're still swarming all over him.
29:18You're not giving him any chance to get out of there.
29:20Nice uppercut again.
29:21Yeah, well, what can they say?
29:22I'm throwing some on.
29:23Yeah, baby.
29:24Is there any heavyweight in the world that can stand up to your power?
29:28Bring it.
29:28All I got to say is bring it.
29:30Whoever, bring it.
29:31You know, you might get tricky.
29:33You might get cute for the first couple of rounds.
29:34But watch the tool man catch up, it's lights out.
29:38Do you think Lennox Lewis is going to fight you?
29:39You got all the preliminaries out of the way now.
29:41Do you think he wants the tool man?
29:42Man, he took care of his business.
29:43He looked great.
29:44And I took care of mine.
29:45And come November, there'll be no excuse whatsoever.
29:47Any network will stop me from fighting Lennox Lewis and fulfilling my dream.
29:51Come November, the only thing that he had at the end of the fight.
29:54Uh, no.
29:56Right here, baby.
29:57Now, I know Lennox Lewis is listening.
29:59You got something to say to him in Samoan.
30:01Lennox.
30:02Now, brother, my Samoan's a tad rusty, so what'd you say?
30:10I love you, man.
30:13Let's send it down to ringside.
30:15And Steve out, but I love you, too.
30:17All right.
30:18Thank you very much, Tony Page.
30:19We'll check the online scoring results from the main event.
30:23And was there really any doubt?
30:24David Tua ahead three to nothing over Robert Daniels.
30:28Absolutely no match for David Tua.
30:31The only question was how long this particular fight would go.
30:35Well, does Tua have what it takes, in your estimation, based on what we've seen, to beat
30:40a Lennox Lewis?
30:41Well, based on what we've seen tonight, you can't really gauge Daniels or Cruiserweight
30:44moving up.
30:45And even at that, has not really faced or conquered any major heavyweights.
30:49But David Tua has the skills.
30:50He has power.
30:51He has durability.
30:52And I know I constantly talk about that fight with Ike Ibiabuchi.
30:55But if people had seen that fight and watched what was displayed by both fighters,
30:59durability, power, speed, endurance, it was an incredible, incredible fight.
31:03But along those lines, it is somewhat difficult to really assess just how good Tua is.
31:08We obviously know he can hit and hit hard.
31:10But how good is he based on this recent questionable opposition?
31:14Well, we can't really base him on that.
31:15We need to base him on fights like John Ruiz.
31:17Now, Ruiz, number one contender, a good quality fighter.
31:20Again, I was very, very impressed with the speed and accuracy of Tua.
31:23Right there, didn't miss.
31:25Everything landed, landed cleanly.
31:26And it was like one punch lights out.
31:28Now, if you're Lennox Lewis, what's going through your mind as you look at David Tua in action and doing his thing?
31:34Lennox Lewis is a confident and very competent world champion.
31:37He's got great height, reach, skills, power, 240-plus pounds himself, no small man, great right hand.
31:43We saw what he just did to both of them.
31:45But he doesn't have the durability factor, and I think that's going to be big.
31:49If he can neutralize Tua and keep him on the outside, that's one thing.
31:52I want to see what happens when they get inside, and if he doesn't tie him up and he gets hit, does he stay up?
31:57And, of course, there's also the prospect of Tua versus Tyson down the road.
32:01A possibility, you never know.
32:03Well, I'll tell you what, there's a fair train wreck involved in that fight, too.
32:06That's two men that can really punch, have great power, both hands, either hand, both fighters.
32:11And you know what?
32:12Mike's a little lighter, maybe a shade quicker.
32:14But, boy, I'll tell you, that is excitement right there.
32:17All right.
32:17On that note, let's take a final look at the results from tonight's doubleheader.
