The annual Christmas Hygge was held this weekend in Peel on the Isle of Man.

Reporter Sadie Gilbert spoke to numerous different vendors and organisers of the event.

00:00Here we are at the Art Reaches Hygge, which is a little festival market going on this weekend in Peel.
00:05It's across four different locations and it's all showcased Manx produce, little different Manx textiles a little bit.
00:12So come with us and we'll show you what's about.
00:15So tell me how this weekend's gone for you guys.
00:17It's gone really well. It's been really busy and we've enjoyed it so much.
00:21And what sort of products are you selling here?
00:24We have a range of South African inspired rusks, nice crisp biscuits that you dunk in coffee and tea.
00:29Then we've got some softer biscuits and we have a range of really nice fudge products.
00:33So why do you think it's important then for your guys' business, you know, to pop up at events like this around the island?
00:38It's really to showcase, you know, the best of Manx made stuff.
00:42And I think it really enhances what the island is capable of in terms of produce and craft.
00:48So it's really nice for us to be around.

00:56And you are one of the owners of Art Reaches, correct?
00:58That's correct. Yes, I am.
01:00So why, you know, have you decided to put on this little festive market this weekend?
01:03So it's actually been running for around eight years now, so quite a long time.
01:07Basically, we put it on to support artists, but also to bring the community into Art Reaches Studios
01:12and share all the wonderful art that's made on the island.
01:16So, yeah.
01:17Has it been a successful weekend?
01:18It's been absolutely chocker all weekend.
01:21It's been absolutely amazing.
01:23Kim, obviously you've got a stall here.
01:25Why is it important to you as a, you know, a small business owner to have a place here?
01:30Yeah, it's a great way to meet my customers.
01:32I've just come out with a new range of products and the idea that I can literally market test
01:36it at a market and meet the people and see their faces and paint live portraits of people.
01:41Like, yeah, it's the perfect place to meet people who love art and are ready to shop for Christmas.
01:44So, what have you sort of brought with you today?
01:47I've brought all my illustrations.
01:49I do traditional and I do digital.
01:52I've got prints and cards and notebooks too.
01:55Why do you think that it's important for you to come to stuff like this and participate in little festivities?
01:59This is my second year doing markets.
02:02So, I'm just trying to get people to see what I can do and, like, build a rapport and figure out what people like.
02:09And it's been such a lovely social time as well.
