China warned Japan over its recent remarks on Taiwan during a press briefing, calling the statements a serious political provocation. Beijing also defended its decision to suspend imports of Japanese aquatic products, saying Tokyo failed to provide required safety materials following the Fukushima wastewater release. Officials cautioned that China may take further measures if Japan continues to damage bilateral relations and undermine the political foundation of China–Japan ties.

00:00Friends from the media, good afternoon.
00:23Welcome to today's press conference.
00:25Now the floor is open to questions.
00:27CCTV recently there is much analysis that Kaichi is the first Japanese PM to explicitly link Taiwan contingency with survival-threatening situation,
00:42which means that Japan could exercise the right of collective self-defense if such situation occurs,
00:48and Japan's armed intervention in the Taiwan Strait could be possible.
00:52The remarks challenged Tenet's bottom line. Do you agree with that?
00:55The right of collective self-defense set forth in the UN Charter is created to defend the collective security of the international community
01:02and prevent this revival of fascist forces.
01:06Japan has been restricted from exercising this right since the end of World War II.
01:11The both-time declaration clearly states that Japan should not rearm.
01:16Japan commits in its constitution to forever re-announce a war and a threat or use of force as means of settling international disputes,
01:24and established the exclusively self-defense-oriented principle.
01:29Together, they codified Japan's obligations as a defeated country.
01:33A brief look at history will show us that to use survival-threatening situation and self-defense as a pretext
01:40is a go-to tactic for Japanese militarism to launch aggression.
01:45In 1931, Japan called whether it could seize Manchuria as survival-threatening
01:50and used that as a pretext to carry out the September 18th incident and invaded and occupied Northeast Asia, China.
01:58Japan later claimed that to defend the Greater East Asia co-prosperity sphere was an existential battle for Japan,
02:05enlarging its war of aggression to the entire Asia.
02:09Whether to attack Pearl Harbor was also deemed as survival-threatening to Japan, which ignited the Pacific War.
02:16The alarm has been sounded.
02:18The historical tragedy must not repeat itself.
02:20As we mark the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and World Anti-Fascist War,
02:27the international community must guard against and thwart any attempt of reviving militarism,
02:32jointly uphold the post-World War II international order, and safeguard world peace.

04:52On November the 18th local time, the 80th session of the UN General Assembly deliberated on the reform of the Security Council.
05:02The Chinese representative explicitly pointed out that Japan is totally unqualified to seek a permanent seat on the Security Council.
05:10What's your comment?
05:11According to the UN Charter, the Security Council bears primary responsibility for the maintenance of international peace and security.
05:19Japan waged a wall of aggression during the Second World War, inflicting profound sufferings to the people of Asia and the world.
05:26Up to now, Japan still has not fully repented for its war crimes.
05:31Some in Japan still advocate a wrong view on World War II history, pay tribute to the Yasukuni shrine, and distort, deny, and even whitewash Japan's history of aggression.
05:42The wrongful remarks recently made by Japanese PM on Taiwan grossly interfere in China's internal affair,
05:49trample on the international law and basic norms in international relations, and challenge the post-World War II international order.
05:55Such a country is incapable of taking up the responsibility for maintaining international peace and security,
06:01and unqualified to become a permanent member of the Security Council.

06:52NHK, we've learned that China has notified Japan that it will suspend the imports of Japanese aquatic products.
07:01Can you share with us the details and reasons?
07:04As far as I know, Japan previously promised to deliver the responsibility of the aquatic products to China.
07:14This is the precondition for the export of Japanese aquatic products to China.
07:19But Japan currently did not fulfill its obligation of supervision and not provide the basic materials.
07:26I would like to stress that recently, the remarks made by the Japanese PM has triggered the outrage of Chinese people.
07:36Currently, even the products are exported to China, there will be no market.

11:10I'd stress that the wrongful remarks on Taiwan by Japanese PM undermines the political foundation of the bilateral relations
11:23and triggered the outrage of Chinese people.
11:26We urge Japan to retract the wrongful remarks and stop stirring up troubles in this regard.
11:32Take concrete actions to safeguard the political foundation of the bilateral relations.
11:37If Japan refuse to retract those remarks, China will take serious countermeasures and all the consequences will be borne by the Japanese side.
11:48The paper is reported that U.S. Secretary of War Hacks has unveiled the Operation Salsan Spear
12:07that aims to remove narco-terrorists from the Western Hemisphere.
12:11The State Department announced to designate Cartel de los Sol headed by Maduro as a foreign terrorist organization effective from November 24.
12:21The U.S. also said that it will not rule out sending troops into Venezuela, was your comment.
12:27China firmly supports the proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a zone of peace released by CILAC in 2014.
12:35China opposes any moves that violate the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and other countries' sovereignty and security,
12:42the interference of external forces in Venezuela's internal affairs under any pretext.
12:47We hope the U.S. will engage in normal law enforcement and judicial cooperation through bilateral and multilateral legal frameworks
12:55and choose the course of action that is conducive to peace and security in LSC.

13:39and I think Japan will respond to it.
13:42First, Japan should take back what it said and safeguard the political foundation of the two countries.
13:50Otherwise, China will take further measures.
