TV's newest late-night host Taylor Tomlinson tells THR on the 2023 Emmys red carpet all about her new show and her hope that all three Jonas Brothers will be guests at some point.
00:00Your new show premieres tomorrow. You're here at the Emmys tonight. How are you feeling going into this big premiere of your new late night show?
00:06Oh my gosh, I'm honestly really excited for the show tomorrow. I'm very nervous about tonight. I'm very scared I'm going to fall.
00:13But once I get through that, smooth sailing, then we just play around on TV with comedians tomorrow night. So I'm really excited about it.
00:19What can we expect from your new show?
00:20You can expect a very silly fun time. Like we did some test shows last week. And what I love about it is as a stand up, it's such a solo sport. And I just get to like hang out and make jokes with friends of mine. Like you can expect games, you can expect like everything you see on the internet that everybody's talking about. That's what we're making fun of. So it's like sitting around with your friends at the end of the day when you're too tired to talk, just like showing each other TikToks. That's kind of the vibe.
00:51Amazing. Do you have a dream guest you're hoping to get on this first season?
00:54Ooh, I hope all the Jonas brothers do it. I hope they're all three panelists one of the nights.
01:01I was a huge. Good. I think they'd be good. I was a huge Jonas fan growing up. Were you as well?
01:06I mean, I'm 30. So yes, like, right. You have no choice. You have to. Yeah.
01:12That's amazing. Are you a Swifty? I feel like you are.
01:15Obviously, I'm a Swifty. Okay, she's not here, right? Okay, no, not tonight.
01:19Break out. Okay, good.
01:22Now that you're. She was at the Golden Globes, though, but not tonight.
01:25She looks so good. I feel like she could be a dream guest for you as well. Or you'd be too nervous?
01:31I mean, that's aiming so high. I would, I would never even, of course, she's a dream guest for everything, obviously.
01:39Given that you're about to start this new show, what Taylor Swift era would you say you're in right now?
01:44Ooh. Hmm. That's a great question. I'm going to say, I'm going to say reputation. That's my favorite one. What's your favorite era?
01:54I'm a speak now, girly, if I had to choose.
01:57Oh, that's so sweet. Speak now, girly. That actually tracks it. The pink dress. It's very speak now. I love that.
02:04It tracks. But I mean, being in your reputation era when you're about to take television by storm, that's the era to be in.
02:09Yeah. Yeah. Very confident. Very aggressive. Very like, here's me. If you like it or not. That's what we're channeling. Very powerful. I just love that album. So.
02:19I love that. And tonight at the Emmys, they're honoring 75 years of TV history for you. When you were growing up, what's a show that made you love television?
02:27Oh, my gosh. I mean, so many shows made me love television growing up. I mean, because of After Midnight, people keep asking me, like, what was my favorite late night show growing up?
02:37And it was definitely Conan. So maybe Conan. I'd say that. Yeah.
