00:00A late-night reversal from President Trump has upended one of the most volatile fights
00:07on Capitol Hill, the push to force the release of all remaining Jeffrey Epstein files.
00:12After days of pressuring Republicans not to move forward, the president is now urging
00:17them to vote yes.
00:18On Truth Social, Trump said House Republicans should vote to release the files because,
00:23quote, we have nothing to hide.
00:24He also called the Epstein fight a, quote, Democrat hoax and said it's time for the
00:30GOP to move on.
00:31The turnabout comes after a week of mounting pressure and a very public feud with one of
00:37his most loyal allies, Congressman Marjorie Taylor Greene, referring to her as a, quote,
00:42traitor and disgrace to our great Republican Party on Saturday.
00:47Then again last night as a traitor that no one cares about.
00:51Words that clearly stung.
00:52The most hurtful thing he said, which is absolutely untrue, is he called me a traitor.
00:58And that is, that is so extremely wrong.
01:02And those are the types of words used that can radicalize people against me and put my
01:09life in danger.
01:10Greene told CNN she's now done with toxic rhetoric.
01:14I would like to say humbly, I'm sorry for taking part in the toxic politics.
01:22It's, it's very bad for our country.
01:25And I've, it's been something I've thought about a lot, especially since Charlie Kirk was
01:30assassinated, is that we, I'm only responsible for myself and my own words and actions.
01:37And I am going, I am committed and I've been working on this a lot lately to put down the
01:44knives in politics.
01:45I really just want to see people be kind to one another.
01:49The falling out follows days of vitriol from Trump and a growing block of conservatives,
01:54Greene among them, pushing to release the files, despite his earlier opposition.
01:59But the momentum was already shifting.
02:01A bipartisan discharge petition hit 218 signatures, forcing a vote this week, something the White
02:08House had tried to avoid.
02:09On ABC, Republican Thomas Massey, co-author of the bill, said GOP support is surging.
02:15I think we could have a deluge of Republicans.
02:18There could be a hundred or more.
02:20I'm hoping to get a veto proof majority on this legislation when it comes up for a vote.
02:25And, you know, the president's been saying this is a hoax.
02:28He's been saying that for months, but in 2030, he's not going to be the president and you will
02:33have voted to protect pedophiles if you don't vote to release these files and the president
02:38can't protect you.
02:39Then this, this vote, the record of this vote will last longer than Donald Trump's presidency.
02:44But Speaker Mike Johnson, one of Trump's strongest offenders, says the president is not worried
02:50about the issue.
02:51He had nothing to do with it.
02:52President Trump has clean hands.
02:54He's not worried about it.
02:55I talk to him all the time.
02:56He has nothing to do with this.
02:57He's frustrated that they're turning it into a political issue.
03:00And it's not surprising because the Democrats have nothing else to talk about.
03:03What have they accomplished in 10 months?
03:05Epstein is their entire game plan.
03:06The vote could come as early as tomorrow.
