00:00Bill and Hillary Clinton say they will testify about Jeffrey Epstein.
00:05No dates, no schedule, and now the countdown starts.
00:08Will they actually show up?
00:10Plus, ICE agents now required to wear body cameras.
00:14The order comes straight from Homeland Security after deadly shootings and mounting pressure.
00:18And she went home, went to bed, and vanished.
00:21Now investigators say the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie's mother is a crime, and time is running out.
00:30The stories that matter, clear and credible, from across the country to around the world.
00:35These are your unbiased updates from Straight Arrow News.
00:41Good morning, I'm Craig DeGrelli.
00:43We begin with a major turn in Congress's investigation into Jeffrey Epstein.
00:47Former President Bill Clinton and his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton,
00:52say they have agreed to testify before Congress about their past interactions with Epstein.
00:57The decision comes as House Oversight Chair James Comer was pushing to hold both Clintons in contempt of Congress
01:04for previously declining to testify.
01:07A House vote on contempt resolutions had been expected as early as Wednesday.
01:12A spokesperson for Bill Clinton said in a post on X that Clintons have negotiated in good faith,
01:18adding they have already, quote, told you under oath what they know, but you don't care.
01:23And they will now appear before the committee.
01:24Following the announcement, Comer said he is reconsidering whether to move the contempt resolutions forward,
01:31but stressed that no final agreement is in place.
01:34In a statement, Comer said the Clintons' attorneys claim they've agreed to terms,
01:39but that those terms remain unclear and no dates have been provided for depositions.
01:44Comer added that the agreement only came after the House advanced contempt proceedings,
01:48saying he plans to clarify the terms with the Clintons' legal team before deciding the next steps with committee members.
01:56Now to the partial government shutdown with all eyes on the House and a high-stakes vote expected today.
02:02President Trump says he's working closely with Speaker Mike Johnson to pass a funding bill without changes.
02:08In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the two are committed to work together in good faith to address the issues that have been raised.
02:15The main sticking point remains funding for Homeland Security following two ICE-related killings in Minneapolis
02:21and growing criticism over aggressive immigration enforcement tactics.
02:26On Monday, the House Rules Committee advanced the package.
02:28The plan funds five of six outstanding bills covering the Departments of Defense, Treasury, and State,
02:35while granting a two-week extension for DHS.
02:38This package is the result of negotiations with the president and senators,
02:45but ultimately it's five of the six bills that we have already passed through the House.
02:50Homeland is just going to go under a CR.
02:53We'd have liked the whole package to go to the president's desk.
02:56Trump has already struck a deal with Senate leaders who approved temporary funding for DHS through February 13th,
03:04buying lawmakers time to debate possible new limits on immigration and customs enforcement.
03:09Meanwhile, the House GOP margin just got tighter.
03:12Democrats now hold 214 seats after Christian Menefee was sworn in Monday night
03:18after winning a special election in Texas on Saturday.
03:21That shrinks the Republican majority to 218 to 214, leaving Speaker Johnson with little room for error.
03:29And there's a notable shift this morning on immigration enforcement,
03:33one that could shape the next phase of this fight.
03:36Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem says all federal immigration officers in Minneapolis
03:41will now wear body cameras effective immediately.
03:44Noem announced the move on social media,
03:46saying she ordered the deployment after speaking with ICE, Customs and Border Protection.
03:51Also, White House boarder czar Tom Homan.
03:54She says the program will expand nationwide as funding becomes available.
03:58The decision follows intense scrutiny over two deadly shootings by federal agents in the Twin Cities,
04:04including the killing of Alex Preddy last month and an earlier shooting that killed Renee Good.
04:09Both cases sparked protests and raised questions about transparency tactics.
04:13President Trump backed the move Monday, saying body cameras are generally good for law enforcement
04:19because they make it harder to dispute what happened.
04:22DHS has already sent thousands of agents into the Minneapolis area as part of a broader crackdown.
04:28And while some agents were already using body cams in limited cases,
04:32the department has faced bipartisan pressure to make them mandatory.
04:36Authorities in Arizona say they are now treating the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie's mother
04:41as a criminal abduction after evidence inside her home showed she was taken against her will.
04:4784-year-old Nancy Guthrie was last seen late Saturday night at her home outside Tucson.
04:52Her family reported her missing around noon on Sunday after she failed to show up for church,
04:57triggering an intensive search.
04:59By Monday, the Pima County Sheriff's Office said the focus had shifted.
05:03We believe now, after we've processed that crime scene, that we do in fact have a crime scene,
05:10that we do in fact have a crime, and we're asking the community's help.
05:16Sheriff Chris Nanos later told CNN investigators believe Nancy Guthrie was taken from her home
05:21during the night and did not leave voluntarily.
05:25He emphasized that this is not a dementia-related case, saying Guthrie is of sound mind
05:30but has limited mobility and could not have left on her own.
05:34This is an 84-year-old lady who suffers from some physical ailments,
05:44has some physical challenges, is in need of medication.
05:50Medication that if she doesn't have in 24 hours, it could be fatal.
05:54Investigators say Nancy Guthrie cannot walk more than short distances without help
06:00and, as you heard, needs daily medication to survive.
06:04Authorities say there is no known threat to the public,
06:07but they are urging neighbors to check security and doorbell cameras.
06:12It's very bizarre. This is a very safe neighborhood.
06:16What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear about it?
06:19The first thing that comes to my mind is that this probably is not a good,
06:25it's going to be a good outcome.
06:28Savannah Guthrie was absent again from this morning's broadcast,
06:32but she posted a message on her Instagram page late Monday night.
06:36In it, she said in part, quote,
06:37We believe in prayer. We believe in voices raised in unison, in love, in hope.
06:43We believe in goodness. We believe in humanity.
06:45Above all, we believe in Him. Bring her home.
06:49President Trump is urging Republicans to take over voting nationwide,
06:54repeating unfounded claims about widespread voter fraud
06:57as his administration pushes to reshape election rules ahead of this year's midterms.
07:02The comments come as the White House and Congressional Republicans
07:06move to overhaul election procedures,
07:09a push that has already drawn sharp criticism from voting rights advocates and elections officials.
07:14In an interview with conservative podcaster Dan Bongino,
07:18who resigned from his post as deputy FBI director in December,
07:22Trump alleged that non-citizen voting is influencing election outcomes,
07:27a claim that elections officials and multiple investigations have rejected.
07:31The Republicans should say, we want to take over.
07:34We should take over the voting, the voting in at least many, 15 places.
07:40The Republicans ought to nationalize the voting.
07:43We have states that are so crooked and they're counting votes.
07:48Trump's remarks come less than a week after the FBI
07:50searched an elections office in Fulton County, Georgia,
07:53a jurisdiction that has long been at the center of his false claims about the 2020 election.
07:58Finally this morning, NASA is delaying its Artemis 2 mission after a problem during a critical overnight test.
08:06Mission managers say engineers detected a hydrogen leak at the base of the Space Launch System rocket
08:12during a full wet dress rehearsal, a countdown test meant to simulate launch conditions.
08:18NASA called off the test just after midnight with about five minutes left in the simulated countdown.
08:22As a result, the agency is now scrapping February's launch window entirely
08:28and says March is the earliest possible launch opportunity.
08:32NASA says potential launch dates now run from March 6th through the 9th
08:36and another window on March 11th and additional backup opportunities in April if needed.
08:42The mission would send four astronauts on a crewed flight around the moon,
08:46a major step toward future lunar landings.
08:49Wow.
08:50All right, before we head out, here's what we're tracking today.
08:52At 10.30 Eastern, activists rally outside NFL headquarters in New York,
08:56calling for an end to ice enforcement at this year's Super Bowl on Sunday.
09:00At 11, President Trump welcomes Colombian President Gustavo Petro to the White House.
09:06At noon, NASA briefs reporters on additional results from that fueling test we were just talking about.
09:11At 4 o'clock, a federal judge hears a lawsuit from Senator Mark Kelly,
09:15who's asking the court to block the Pentagon from cutting his retirement pay in rank,
09:19a case he says is retaliation for speaking out.
