00:00Nicki Minaj has a huge gig booked at the United Nations and she is not going to be performing
00:07music. She is going to be addressing the General Assembly of the United Nations. How did Nicki
00:12Minaj end up in this position? I think there's a Trump connection here. There absolutely is.
00:18You remember a couple of weeks ago, Nicki spoke up on social media and thanked President Trump
00:25for his stance that he had taken on Nigeria and the violence in Nigeria, where allegedly there are
00:33Christians being there's a Christian genocide in Nigeria. And the president said that we may have
00:40to do something about it. And Nicki thanked him. And now, lo and behold, she is going to be speaking
00:45at the U.N. U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz said Nicki is not only arguably the
00:53greatest female recording artist, but also a principled individual who refuses to remain
00:58silent in the face of injustice. I'm grateful she's leveraging her massive platform to spotlight
01:03the atrocities against Christians in Nigeria. I look forward to standing with her as we discuss
01:08the steps the president and his administration are taking to end the persecution of our Christian
01:13brothers and sisters. Those steps are controversial. He's intimated. He could even send troops over
01:19there, which a lot of people, including Marjorie Taylor Greene, thinks is a bad idea.
01:25But it's interesting to have, like, Nicki is not really involved in this, but she certainly
01:31has a strong feeling about it. And all she does is express it on social media. And you go from that
01:36to now you're addressing the U.N. Well, but now the question is, is the Trump administration
01:42using her to promote what they really want, which Nicki doesn't necessarily say she wants?
01:48That's the big deal. Well, I think the Trump administration has to be absolutely loving this,
01:52because let's face it, Nicki Minaj is on a different level than Kid Rock and some of the
01:57other celebrities that the Trump administration typically associates with. And as far as Nicki goes,
02:02I'm kind of curious where this puts her with her fan base. We know how ride or die her fans are,
02:07but they definitely are not all Trump fans. And now she's going to be standing next to Mike Waltz
02:12talking about an issue that a lot of people are not familiar with and seems to have a lot of gray
02:18area around as well. So it's going to be interesting to see how it plays out tomorrow at the U.N.
02:22Well, I think that's a great thing, by the way. Her fans, you're right, her fans are ride or die,
02:26which means they will be paying attention to this and you're suddenly going to have millions of people
02:31who are educating themselves. Or they've taken their, they've taken a position already on Donald Trump
02:37and they're not going to agree with anything Trump wants. It's not, but they're going to pay
02:40attention. They will follow the fact that Nicki is interested in it. They will at least want to
02:46learn about it. And I think that's a good thing. So the question then is, does Mike Waltz then say,
02:51well, you see, this is why the United States wants to send troops in there. And then Nicki Minaj is in
02:56a tough position. Unless Nicki agrees with that, which we'll probably find out when she speaks.
03:01What I want to see is, is she going to mention anything about Cardi B? That's what I want to see.
03:04She's not going to mention Cardi B. She is taking it seriously. She said,
03:08I do not take it for granted having this opportunity. It means more than you know.
03:12The barbs and I will never stand down in the face of injustice. We've been given our influence
03:17by God. There must be a bigger purpose. They're going to be with her.
03:21Even if they're using her? Maybe it's the, the, the end justifies the means.
03:27The, the, the Trump administration has an end game with her that she may or may not sign on to.
03:34Hi, it's Carrington from Houston, Texas, and congrats to Nicki Minaj on such an honor.
03:40However, I think we should stop mixing church and state. I don't think entertainers should be
03:45speaking for the United Nations, nor talking about such serious topics when we're rapping
03:51and teasing people on the internet to promote albums.
03:54That's a really fair point. Influencing people to pay attention to a,
03:58an issue or a topic is different than endorsing a candidate.
04:00And they're both. Yeah. Right.
