WOMAN’S DIY HAIRCUT GOES TERRIBLY WRONG WITH VID AND PIX BY SHANNON PICKETT What began as a simple bang trim turned into a full-blown follicular catastrophe for this 21-year-old who has now become the latest cautionary tale of why scissors and impulse should never mix. Elisabeth Cawley from Utah, USA, decided she was in need of a haircut but as she started cutting, one piece ended up shorter than the other with a never-ending battle to even out the sides. She hit record and proceeded to document her now-infamous haircut meltdown, a journey that began at shoulder length and ended far shorter than anything she had hoped for. She said: “First I'm just going to cut it to the length of these other short pieces. “I cut off a lot!" Still, that didn’t stop her. Convinced that some previously cut shorter pieces were 'annoying' and messing with her vision, she devised a new idea: a 'full-on high-made cut' that would supposedly leave face-framing pieces resting on her cheekbones. Cawley openly admitted her 'insatiable thirst for cutting hair' as she weighed her dream of both very long hair and, paradoxically, a pixie cut. But acting on impulse, Elisabeth had already picked up the scissors and decided where she was going to start cutting. The haircut was getting shorter and shorter, her own horror growing with each glance. Looking at the result, Cawley was genuinely unsure whether the situation could be redeemed. She said: “I want a pixie cut so bad, but I also want really long hair. Do you see my dilemma? “I need to be stopped. Okay, I've got to stop. I did it too short. “I do this every time. I do this every time. I don't know if this can be saved. “I need recommendations like right now. And uh, don’t say pixie cut.” ENDS
