00:00The palace announces that President Ferdinand R. Marcus Jr. has accepted the resignation of Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin and Budget Secretary Amena Pangandaman.
00:10This is following the alleged involvement of the two officials in the anomalous flood control project.
00:15According to palace press officer Claire Castro, Bersamin and Pangandaman submitted the resignation letters voluntarily as courtesy and to make way for the investigation on the flood control scam.
00:27Castro also said that the possible reason to the resignation was due to being mentioned in the video statement of former Ako Bicol Partilist Representative Zaldi Ko regarding the flood control anomaly.
00:40In the meantime, the President has appointed Finance Secretary Ralph Recto as the new Executive Secretary.
00:46While the Special Assistant to the President for Investment Economic Affairs, Frederick Goh, will assume the role of Finance Chief.
00:53On the other hand, Undersecretary Rolando Toledo will oversee the Department of Budget and Management as the new officer in charge.
