00:08took their oaths of office in Malacanang Palace's study room earlier today.

00:28or PCO Secretary Dave Gomez
00:31in conveying the programs and policies of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to the public.
00:38Today, Gomez took his oath before President Marcos as the new head of the PCO.
00:48Gomez also pledged to combat fake news,
00:52strengthen digitalization,
00:54promote press freedom,
00:55improve coordination with the media,
00:59and conduct a performance evaluation within the agency.
01:03We need to conduct a fair, honest-to-goodness,
01:06unbiased performance audit of the office.
01:09I want to be fair to everyone.
01:10In a Facebook post,
01:12President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. expressed confidence in Gomez,
01:17believing he can effectively deliver the government's message
01:20to the Filipino people.
01:22Gomez replaces former PCO Secretary Jay Ruiz,
01:27who has been appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of the Manila Economic and Cultural Office.
01:33Also taking her oath today,
01:35New Energy Secretary Sharon Garin,
01:38with her extensive background in legislation and policymaking,
01:43President Marcos is confident Garin can help ensure reliable, affordable,
01:49and clean energy for every Filipino people.
01:52Meanwhile, Malacanang confirmed the irrevocable resignation
01:57of Energy Regulatory Commission Chair Mona Lisa de Malanta.
