00:00Neil, a 1-1 draw against a competitive Boston side, you'll have known what they're all about, thoughts on that?

00:07Yeah, lack of quality, didn't do the nitty-gritty well enough, didn't win enough basic second ball.

00:12I thought they were really well organised, really well structured and I didn't think we played with the energy and the tempo and the desire

00:21and the quality that we have done in the last few games.

00:24Disappointing, can't find an individual in there that I thought was at his A game and the only positive is it's 7 unbeaten.

00:33I was going to say, below your best levels that you have been showing, it's obviously a bit of disappointment there,

00:38but it is a point on the board and makes that unbeaten run 7 games, doesn't it?

00:42Yeah, it's important when you're not playing well not to lose, but we have to be better at home.

00:48Home form is crucial to having a good season and we haven't quite managed to get that going yet.

00:53Not for the want of trying, but we have to dust ourselves down.

00:57You know, it's gone in the end, the point's all we deserved.

01:00And, you know, Josh was at the post, it was going to be something scrappy if we could nick it,

01:05but I never felt comfortable at the back, I didn't think we defended well enough as a team.

01:09And we was always at last ditch at the back, I didn't feel like we were ever in control of our defending at the back.

01:15And obviously the goals come from that sort of thing.

01:18So leading the first half through Harry Buteman, the move started with a nice 1-2 between Aaron Drew and Matt Ward,

01:23and then Aaron obviously cut it back.

01:25And at half, you know, Harry slots that away and at half time, presumably the plan was to sort of kick on from there ideally, wasn't it?

01:30Yeah, and that was what we worked on all week, getting down the sides, 2v1s, which we got for the first goal.

01:37Josh Kelly does great, gets across the front man without him darting across the front, we don't score.

01:41He's a major part of that goal.

01:43And yeah, in the end, you know, we're 1-0 up and the game didn't deserve to be 1-0 up.

01:50So very thankful that we was.

01:52And we had a lot of fleeting moments, obviously the offside goal was dubious, but fleeting moments of good play.

01:59But not enough, I didn't think we won half battles.

02:02I thought their centre-forward caused us loads of problems, even though we'd prepped in the warm-up for that.

02:08And yeah, all round, just a mere day where no one really, really played to their potential.

02:15Yeah, now John Lewis is sort of a well-known handful at this level, isn't he?

02:19Yeah, I've had Lenny at York, sorry, so I know what Lenny's about.

02:23But listen, it is what it is, I can only be honest, and my honest assessment is we didn't deserve anything more than the draw.

02:30And it wasn't a good enough performance from our point of view, but we have to just move on now.

02:36As I say, it makes it seven unbeaten, but I'm guessing the mood is slightly flat in there afterwards, is it?

02:40Yeah, sometimes you play really well, and you know you deserve to win.

02:43I don't think we did today, I think we lost too many battles.

02:46Listen, Graham's organised Boston really well, but if we had a bit more quality,

02:51and we did a bit more nous in our defensive work, and our control of our bodies when we were defending,

02:58then we would have thought too often our 1v1 defending was poor.

03:01And like I say, I can only just say what I've said already, which is too many players had an off day,

03:07and you know, the draw's about as good as we could have played.

03:10And then Cobham on the Saracena come from Tuesday, I'm guessing that will be another chance for some of the academy players?

03:16Yeah, there'll be quite a few. We'll have a look at who plays in it, but there's one or two, Sam Ashford might be able to get some minutes,

03:25Aidan O'Brien might be able to get some minutes, and we'll have a look at one or two that come off the bench today.

03:29But yeah, there'll be a lot, the kids will get a chance to impress themselves amongst them players.

03:34And obviously Aldershot on Saturday is obviously a massive game for the fans, isn't it?

03:37You're obviously well aware of the occasion, but presumably you need to sort of take the emotion out of it almost.

03:42Yeah, it's a tough game on the calendar, we've just got to be better than we were today.

03:48So we'll try and get the week right and go into that in a place where we can put in certainly a better level of performance than today.
