New Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Fadlun Mak Ujud has clocked in for his first day of work on Monday (Nov 17).

He was welcomed by a parade and cultural performance at the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) headquarters in Jalan Raja Laut, followed by a brief meet-and-greet session with staff members in the lobby.

00:20Fadlun was accompanied by DBKL, Socioeconomic Development Executive Director Ismadi Sakirin
00:27and other City Hall officials as he headed to his office.
00:31Previously, the president of Putrajaya Corporation since 2022, Fadlun now serves as the 16th mayor
00:38of Kuala Lumpur.
00:40He takes over from Datuk Seri Maimuna Mohammad Sharif, who has been reassigned to Petronas
00:44as a property advisor, effective today.
00:48Fadlun, aged 58, holds a bachelor's degree in urban and regional planning from University
00:54Technology Malaysia and brings more than 28 years of experience in urban planning, regional
01:00development and city management.
01:02His appointment received the consent of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, in
01:08accordance with Section 4, Subsection 2 of the Federal Capital Act, 1960.
