00:15In a statement on Sunday, Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Sri Dr Maimunah Mohamad Sharif said
00:20the decision was to enable DBKL and the Royal Malaysia Police to conduct an independent,
00:26transparent and thorough investigation.
00:29She said the matter was also discussed with the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department,
00:34Federal Territories, Datuk Sri Dr Zaliha Mustafa.
00:39She also said Kuala Lumpur City Hall views this incident seriously and will not compromise
00:45on any misconduct by its personnel if proven guilty.
00:49A video of the altercation recently went viral on social media, drawing widespread public
00:54reaction.
00:56It is said the 28-year-old balloon vendor, Mohamad Zaimuddin Azlan, is receiving treatment
01:01at a public hospital.
01:03Initially, it was said that the incident occurred after the vendor refused to cooperate and
01:08comply with enforcement directives, in addition to allegedly acting aggressively toward the
01:14officers on duty.
