00:00What if living forever wasn't a blessing, but a cause?
00:08When God created Adam and Eve,
00:12He gave them access to every tree in the Garden of Eden,
00:17including the Tree of Life.
00:20The Tree of Life gave strength, healing, and long life.
00:26But when Adam and Eve sinned by disobeying God,
00:31everything changed.
00:34They lost perfection.
00:36Their minds and bodies became corrupt.
00:40God judged them and drove them away from the Garden of Eden.
00:46And God prevented Adam, Eve, and the whole mankind
00:52from having access to the Tree of Life.
00:56Why did God prevent fallen mankind from eating from the Tree of Life?
01:04Was God punishing humanity further?
01:08The answer is no.
01:10God was not punishing humanity further.
01:13God was actually protecting humanity from something that is worse than death.
01:25Imagine living forever in pain, depression, greed, or sickness.
01:32That would be eternal torment, not everlasting life.
01:38And God does not want fallen and imperfect mankind to pass through that.
01:44God is love.
01:46He doesn't want human beings to live forever in a falling state.
01:52That is why God has promised a Redeemer, Jesus Christ, who would restore that perfection,
01:59Adam lost, and reopen the way to the Tree of Life, forever and ever.
02:07So the next time you hear about the Tree of Life,
02:13remember that God didn't ban humanity from eating from it out of anger.
02:19He did it out of love to protect us from living forever in a falling state.
02:26God's purpose is for humans to live forever in a perfect state in His presence.
