00:17Have you ever wondered what it felt like to open your eyes for the very first time?
00:21Not to wake up, but to exist.
00:24My name is Adam, and before there was a city, before there was a kingdom, before there was
00:28war, before there was death, there was me.
00:31I remember nothing before that moment.
00:33Only darkness.
00:35Then suddenly, breath.
00:38The first thing I ever felt wasn't air.
00:40It was life, entering me.
00:42God himself leaned over the dust of the earth and breathed into my nostrils.
00:45That breath became my first heartbeat.
00:48I opened my eyes, and the very first face I ever saw was my creator.
00:53Imagine that.
00:54The first voice I ever heard wasn't human, it was God's.
00:57He smiled at me, not because I had done anything, but because he made me.
01:01And he called his creation, Very Good.
01:04The world was unlike anything you know today.
01:07There were no hospitals, no prisons, no cemeteries, no fear, no sickness, no pain.
01:12Everything lived in perfect harmony.
01:14Lions rested beside lambs.
01:16Birds filled the skies with songs.
01:18Every tree overflowed with fruit.
01:20The rivers sparkled like crystal.
01:22And every morning, I walked with God.
01:25Not in visions, not in dreams.
01:27I literally walked beside him.
01:29Can you imagine hearing his laughter?
01:31Listening as he explained why he made the stars?
01:34Asking him questions no human has ever asked since?
01:37That was my life.
01:38Paradise.
01:40God gave me a purpose.
01:41He brought every animal before me.
01:43One after another.
01:44Creatures you've never even seen.
01:46Some now extinct.
01:47Some still roaming your earth today.
01:49Each one waited patiently, and I named them all.
01:51Lion.
01:52Elephant.
01:53Eagle.
01:53Horse.
01:54Every name began with me.
01:56Yet as the days passed, I noticed something.
01:59Every creature had another like itself.
02:01Two birds.
02:02Two deer.
02:02Two wolves.
02:03But not me.
02:04I was alone.
02:05Then one evening, God did something extraordinary.
02:08He caused me to fall into the deepest sleep imaginable.
02:11When I awoke, she was standing before me.
02:14Eve.
02:14She wasn't created from dust like I was.
02:17She was formed from my own side.
02:19Not from my head to rule over me.
02:21Not from my feet to be beneath me.
02:23But from my side.
02:24To stand beside me.
02:26For the first time, I wasn't alone.
02:28We laughed together.
02:30Explored together.
02:31Worshipped together.
02:32Life couldn't have been more perfect.
02:34Or so we thought.
02:36There was only one command.
02:37Just one.
02:38Do not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
02:41Think about that.
02:42Millions of trees.
02:43Only one forbidden.
02:44It seemed so simple.
02:46Until the serpent came.
02:47He didn't begin with a lie.
02:49He began with a question.
02:50Did God really say?
02:52That single question planted doubt where trust once lived.
02:55I watched as Eve reached toward the fruit.
02:57She looked at me.
02:58I knew what God had said.
02:59I knew.
03:00But instead of stopping her, I reached out and ate it too.
03:04The sweetest bite became the bitterest moment in human history.
03:08Everything changed instantly.
03:10Shame.
03:11Fear.
03:11Guilt.
03:12They were emotions we've never known.
03:15We covered ourselves with leaves.
03:16Not because God rejected us.
03:18But because we could no longer bear our own nakedness.
03:21When God came walking through the garden, for the first time, I hid.
03:27Imagine hiding from the one who made the universe.
03:29He called my name.
03:31Adam.
03:32Where are you?
03:34It wasn't because he didn't know where I was.
03:36It was because I no longer knew where I belonged.
03:39The curse came quickly.
03:40The ground would resist me.
03:42Work would become exhausting.
03:44Pain entered creation.
03:45Death entered humanity.
03:46And worst of all, we had to leave Eden.
03:49I turned back one last time.
03:51The garden glowed behind us.
03:53Angels stood guard.
03:54Flaming swords blocked the entrance forever.
03:57Home.
03:58Was gone.
03:59People often remember me as the man who brought sin into the world.
04:02They're right.
04:03But that isn't the end of my story.
04:05Even as we left Eden, God made us garments from animal skins.
04:08The first sacrifice.
04:10The first hint.
04:11That one day, someone else would cover humanity's shame forever.
04:15I didn't understand it then, but God had already begun his rescue plan.
04:19One day, a second Adam would come.
04:21Not from the dust, but from heaven.
04:23Where I failed, he would succeed.
04:25Where I brought death, he would bring life.
04:28My story begins the Bible.
04:30But his story saves it.
04:32I am Adam, the first man, the first sinner.
04:35The first recipient of God's mercy.
04:37And this is my story.
