00:00Illegal immigration is something that is causing huge division in our country.

00:04It's imperative that we deal with that as a government.

00:07I can see a system that is out of control, that is unfair and putting huge pressure on communities.

00:12My reforms are designed to reduce the number of arrivals coming into this country

00:17and to increase the number of removals of those who have no right to be in our country.

00:23And alongside that, as we get order and control into our system,

00:27to be able to create new safe and legal routes for genuine refugees

00:31who are fleeing conflict and danger and war abroad.

00:35So we still want to do what we have always done, which is provide sanctuary for genuine refugees,

00:41but do that within a system that is fixed, that is ordered and that is controlled.
